There are TV/Monitor hybrids out there. You could get a 60'' plasma widescreen and use it as your desktop monitor for example. But as far as watching 'streaming video' from like....HBO from your local cable provider, you will not be able to do it with this computer unless you purchase an add-on card (be sure you have the open PCI slot first).

You would need something like the cards listed in the url below (again, be sure your motherboard is compatable with it first).

The remote that was provided with your DirecTv at time of install is capable of programming to nearly any device. (DVD's, Blu-Rays, Surround Sounds.) It is a universal remote, I would suggest contacting DirecTv to have them walk you through the process of programming the original remote to your devices .

A head unit with sub out tv/ audio in , rca cables, if the tv in on the head unit and the tv, is hdmi capable. a hdmi cable is needed. tv if flat should have rca, and depending on the age hdmi outs just the red and white on the rca cables. You need a pre amp for the sub this is heed unit or tuner if comparing to you car. it breaks the signal down to the amp. plug into the audio in, tv in or (hdmi in depending on your unit, some only have rca ins.) Yes, IF your blu-ray player has another form of out-put like RCA jacks that match what your TV does have. Use this format. By not being able to use the HDMI port from your blu-ray player will only hinder video quality. Your tv that doesn't have a HDMI port already tells me video quality wont justify what your Blu-ray is capable of. Hope this helps.

then you TV is not equipped for HDMI but u can use Component cables they work just as well. on back of the TV you should see several plug in's the RED,WHITE and Video are called RCA , they will work too. but the next one u look for are labeled Comp. (purple, red and green) they are larger and thicker that the RCA , plug those into you Satellite receiver or Blu Ray Player. Then go to ur TV and view it using the matching video stream..

Unfortunately, there are a couple potential problems. First of all, if you RCA rear projection tv is fairly old and is not a High Definition tv, you may not have an hdmi, dvi, or component connector cables inputs. Without these, you are left connecting your blu-ray only by the standard yellow (video), along with the audio (red and white) rca cables... either way, the High Definition portion of the blu-ray won't work with a non-High Definition tv. It may be time to buy an HD capable tv to use your blu-ray effectively...
