Pioneer 6020FD 60 flat screen TV seems to require power supply replacement. Out of warranty. What are my options? Standby light flashes, no picture will show anymore.
I cannot go with the cap replacement kill myself option, sorry. My dad left us this TV to us when he died last year. He purchased it in 2009. Thank you for your help.

make sure it doesn't have a vacation button underneath. I have had kids or movers inadvertently press that button and tv goes dead. outside of that. you have lost the power supply and will need professional help. pioneers are very sophistcated
Check that the outlets "GFCI" fuse or reset button hasn't been triggered. If this isn't a GFCI outlet, then verify the breaker is on. If still no luck, verify the device input power i.e. 110/240V
The problem is likely with the screen itself. The power supply usually supplies both screen and speakers and has a light flashing on it indicating that it has power. Screens are often not worth replacing unless under warranty as they can sometimes cost as much as new TV to replace.
is the tv still under warranty? make sure that where ever the tv is plugged in that that outlet is working. if your tv is under warranty they should fix it for free. if not you will either have to open it up and figure it out or get a repairman to fix it. From a guess I'm going to say that the fuse could have blown on the tv which can be replaced if you know what your doing. Def. make sure your tv is under warranty first.

Your refering to the widescreen cinema mode. This will not affect plasma.Only still pictures with colour retention will do it but even then it would take many hours to take effect if at all.
