The WD62825 has a Digital Module located on the left side of the chassis looking at it from the rear of the set. It's housed in a metal box that can slide out of its holder after removing the trim screws.
The module has its own power supply board and there are a group of 16v/1000uf caps on that board which commonly fail causing the constant flashing standby light. Further back on the module is a small board about the size of a matchbook called the E2P module. Its SMT (Surface Mount Technology) caps also commonly fail which can cause the same symptoms. Techs can tell whether the E2P has failed by simply removing it, hooking the DM back up and trying to power the set. If it powers on the picture won't be much good - but at least you can tell what's keeping it down...
Back to the caps on the pwr board. If they've failed they usually will buldge visibly on top. And ESR is almost not necessary. In any event that's the nuts and bolts on this model.
Is it a job for a layman? Yes and no - you might strongly consider a tech if you don't feel comfortable removing all the connections that the DM has with the signal board. There are about six - multi-pin - wired connections to unplug and then sliding the DM out of the unit and carefully removing the screws and latching to take the DM top cover off...
Hope this helps.

Uh Oh! Unless this is something simple like a loose piece inside the projection chamber shadowing the screen it would have to be the light engine ($$$) warping due to overheating of its plastic housing. Check inside the cabinet for loose objects in front of the lens, then clean all the fan filters, then call your warranty company.

Mitsubishi has problems with the thermal sensor going bad. They extended the warranty for several sets. The sensor is right by the lamp. Call mitsubishi and insist they do something for you. If you keep playing your set, the bulb could also be at risk. I would think your set is covered being a 62" set. Good-luck and be sure to act ASAP.

If the green front panel LED blinks continuously and the TV never comes on, its an issue with the "DM" board. When these TVs are first plugged in, the green LED should blink for 30 sec. to a minute or so. This is the TV booting up, reading its software. Mitsubishi has been having problems with this circuit for several years. In may cases the only permanent solution is to have the chassis rebuilt by Mitsubishi at considerable cost and inconvience. The chassis may have to be sent back to Mits for this rebuild. Call Mits and ask for help.

All I get is a blue welcome screen on my Mitsu WD-65C9 DLP TV. After several seconds of blue screen, it always just shuts down. I downloaded the Mitsubishi software upgrade, but it did NOT solve...

Hi Mike,

May I know if the LED light at the front panel has a pattern of flashes or flashing continuously in green color.

Please check if you can access the "Self diagnostic screen" by following the steps below.
- To activate, press the front panel "Activity" and "Channel down" buttons at the same time and hold for 5 secs. The Status led will then flash a two digit code. Example, if the error code is "23" the led light flashes 2 times(blink, blink) pause and then flash 3 times(blink, blink, blink). Let me know the error code, it will help to diagnose where the fault came from.
Note : the TV must be in shutdown not switched off, or AC power cord is removed because the code will reset to "12" means no error. Use the front panel buttons not on the remote control. If you can't access the self diagnostic, press and hold the "Activity" button on the front panel for 5 secs before entering the "self diagnostic" code.

Kind Regards,

Whites and Light Blues Very Pixely

If it's happening on all of your settings, It's probably going to be a problem with the DLP light engine. That TV came out in 2005, right? Did you buy it brand new, or as a floor model etc.? In any case, it's more than likely out of warranty and going to be a pain in the wallet. Best Advice I can give you with this info is hold out for some price cuts this holiday season. Sorry I couldn't be of help.

My mitsubishi dlp hd tv has color bleed and everything is purple and green after set warms up. What causes this to happen? What does it take to fix this problem. the set is only 15 months old.

This set has the problem of sucking up dust and scuzzing up the light engine, this causes purple and green spots, A good tech can disassemble the light engine and clean it, the cheap ones will change the light engine
