A " mechanicky " person can use a variety of shop items and tricks to clean that out, such as high air pressure, shop vacuum machines, long poker rods, etc. etc. to clean this out for you.
God bless your efforts.

How do I replace the OUTER bag on my Oreck XL2200?

Depends on whether you have a bag dock or not. If you have a bag dock, squeeze the inside part where it hinges and pull off the outer part, then spread the inner part and pull off of the handle tube. Then you can pull the outer bag off of the same handle tube connection and then disconnect from the bottom. Installation is just the reverse of taking it off. If you do not have a bag dock, there is a "U" shaped clip that goes over the top of the bag connection on the handle tube. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry up on the clip and pull it off. You can then pull your bag off the handle tube and disconnect at the bottom and replace your bag. Hope this helps!

My Oreck XL is shooting dust out from the roller when I try to vacumn

This is a sign that the bag is full or there's a clog in the air flow piping. Check behind the brush for clogs and remove if there is. Open the cloth bag, remove the paper bag, and check inside the tube. If no blockage is visible, drop a coin or marble down the opening and see if it rolls out. If not, there's a clog that needs removed. You can use an air pressure hose to blow it out..

My Oreck vacuum cleane won't turn on

I have an Oreck vacuum. My son used it just earlier today and it worked just fine, then just a little while ago a tried to turn it on to vacuum our bedroom and suddenly it won't turn on! I tried plugging it into other outlets but it was no use. My husband takes a look at it and first thinks that the switch is out in it. He takes the handle apart and quickly realizes that it is not the switch that is causing the problem. Then he took the base of the vacuum apart, removes the spin brush part and cleans it off, puts it back together, and suddenly it works! He said that when those brushes get real dirty the motor gets clogged, then it just won't turn on. I'm just happy I married someone who can figure these things out, because even if I knew the problem I'm still no good with a screwdriver, taking things apart and putting them back together again. Hope this works for your Oreck too and it's running again for you soon.

My bag is brand new and is not filling up with air and picking up dirt. Oreck xl

There may be a clog in the handle. The handle in Oreck acts like a hose to connect the floor part to the bag part. They are designed to come apart for this very reason. Inspect yours to find the diretions for clearing. No air in the bag is a dead giveaway in this case.

Air flow tube is plugged. I can't get it apart to clean out. It says to press the 2 pins at the base but they don't move when I try to press them, even using pliers.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The tube going into the motor section is to push the pin and then twisted, the lower part get a dust and dirt build up and sometimes hard to remove, give it a shot of WD-40 @ the top and bottom of the fill tube and then repeat the pus in the tab and twist and it should come loose. There are also in the bigger cities the Oreck stores that you can also bring it to as well. If you have further problems or you do not have the strength to do this, bring it to a local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area and it is only a 5 or 10 minute job to remove the tube and to unclog the vacuum. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Oreck Vacuum Cleaner problem (upright)

The best solution to any Oreck vacuum problem is to replace it with another brand. You are going to continue having problems with the Oreck..Not that other brands don't have problems. But, at least with
other brands the problems don't occur as often. Belt burning up. clogs, roller brush bristle wearing down prematurely, cord breaking internally, etc.
P.S. Oreck is good at one thing. Marketing!
