SOURCE: Infocus LP820 - Turns on for 30sec then shuts down

This could be one of two problems I have seen with another model Infocus projector (they are very good projectors though)

The first is the video input. Make sure it is attached correctly at both ends of the cable.
The second, remove the dust covers and blow them out. The problem can arrise if the temperature sensor detects the air inside the unit is getting too hot. If you can see the sensor when the dust covers are off (it will look like a little lump of goo on the end of a wire) then just give it a wipe as well. If dust settles on those it can cause incorrect temps to be reported.

Hope that solves your poblem =)

SOURCE: IN72 Projector problem

My understanding when we purchased our IN72 2 years ago is that there wasn't any additional benefit for Cable box using HDMI since the IN72 does not transmit audio so using component cables for cable was optimized enough. We have our DVD player connected via the HDMI only. Possibly the transmission from cable box through an HDMI is not compatible audio is confusing it? hard to say. Cable HD channels look awesome thru the compenent cables, the max for IN72 is 480i anyway.

We've got 35 ft cables for all 3 hdmi, compenent, and that vcr one too and it's worked great.

I have dell 3300mp,when I turn the power on it makes a very loud noise. It does not make the sound in standby or cool down. It does work and display a signal okay, but it is very loud. Sound like a fan?,...

The main fan that cools the lamp is mostly high speed when the unit is running. when it shuts down it slows the fan down, until it stops in standby. So the noise is only really loud when it is showing a picture.

try setting the fan to eco mode (slower running) and see if the noise is acceptable. If it is still too loud then you will have to replace it. Have a look at the fan and see if any of the plastic blades are missing.

My infocus 1503 works however once it is turned on the unit sounds as though it is ready to take off. The fan is very loud then after a few minutes it quiets down and then the fan becomes very loud again....

I own two of these projectors. You need to update the firmware to 1.03 which can be found on the infocus website. This solves the fan issues which also causes premature shutdown of the projector. Once you download the update, open it, there will be step by step instructions on how to do this procedure. I could not get this to work with Vista 64 so you might need to run this on XP or 7.

Frigidaire gallery stove, oven not working,

Morison,
The same thing happened to me about a week ago. I was preheating our electric oven, heard a very loud bang/pop. Checked and the oven had PF (power failure) I went downstairs and the breaker was tripped. Came back upstairs and to look at stove, the burners are working fine so I continued to preheat oven after a half an hour the oven was only slightly warm. Did you ever find out what was wrong?

Will not turn on, red light flashing next to the menu button

if the fans don't turn on, they may be bad and needs replacing or rewired. if the fans turn on but not the lamp, the colorwheel may be bad (listen for a high-pitched whir when you switch it on. if no whir, replace the colorwheel). if the colorwheel is ok, replace the lamp.

Projection tv has really loud buzz or hum

You may not see any deterioration in the picture when the color wheel begins to go bad. The noise will get louder and eventually, it will shut down or the wheel will shatter while the motor continues to spin. If that happens, you'll have a black and white picture.

If its a Samsung DLP that is mercury vapor lamp driven, its a safe bet the color wheel is going bad.

Loud noise when it is in DVD player, low brightness

Projector only displays Black and White / No color images.

The problem is the color wheel. It may have broken or motor stopped on clear. Either way the image will remain unchanged just without color. It will need to be sent in for service. Not an unusual problem for BENQ. I have had 3 that have come apart after making a loud whirring sound. Good luck getting someone with BENQ to help they are horrible when it comes to service. Buyers beware!!!
