My ceiling fan and light does not respond to remote control any more. How do I get them to reconnect again?

Are you asking where you find the receiver's receptor on the ceiling fan? Sorry, your question is a little bit hard to understand - can you clarify a bit? If you are asking about a fan, which fan is it where you are trying to find the receiver?

Fan does not respond to remote, checked and replaced batteries in remote. No response, and unfortunately it is now well out o warranty but have the same fan in another room purchased same year 2003 which is moving along fine. Cannot find instruction book for either one. Please help. Thanks

The remote-controlled fans that I've seen all have DIP switches in the transmitter (the "remote") and receiver (up by the fan). For the remote to operate the fan, both sets of switches have to be set to the same code. If you happened to bump the DIP switches (and change the code) while replacing the battery, the fan would no longer respond to the remote.

It's been four months since you posted this problem, so you've probably figured that out by now. Still, other users may run into the same problem occasionally.
