Checked fuses then sprayed contact cleaner on the fuses and the fuse holders. The speakers began to work correctly.

That would suggest heat is an issue.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it '*****'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Technics SA-GX710 won't turn on

Fuses should be tested - not assumed to be "fine". Check power switch for electrical operation. Check for broken/defective components.

SA-EX800 no sound

My receiver I saying overload and switc power off

Disconnect all speakers and see if you get the same error.
If you don't , get an ohm meter and start checking the speakers and wires.
Anything les than 4 ohms is likely the problem.
Check the impedance on your speakers to see if they should read 8 ohms or 4 ohms.
Check the wires for shorts.

If the amp says overload with all inputs and outputs disconnected, then you likely have a blown output transistor. Start checking the output transistors for shorts between any 2 pins.
To check the transistors properly, check them out of circuit.
here's a couple links to my tips and tricks to help you in that area.

Technics SA-810 receiver-no sound

For the question at the top you most likely blew your computer chip on the Technics sa 810, we have 2 of these receivers and one lost it left channel and the green auto light went out, we have taken it to several places and they ended up having to turn down the power. now it is working great sounds the same just needs more volume level, but it ended up costing $500 CAD, you can't get the auto to work any more, you will most likely need a new stereo, The Technics SA 810 is an awesome receiver, good luck fixing it

Technics sa-g78 no sound from front speakers

This happens on mine also. My theory is a relay. If you turn the volume up (Waaay up) momentarily, you "burn through" the oxidation on the relay and the sound comes back - for awhile. Some day, I'll get in there and replace it with something more robust.

Connecting MP3 to receiver

There are many products that will transmit to a standard radio receiver, here is one rather fancy example: http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/anydrive_car_mp3_fm_transmitter_review To find others which are much cheaper, search with mp3 and transmitter. But, make sure it will do what you want before you buy it!
