Hello: I would like to know if you could tell me if there is a way to get this receiver to work again. As it does not turn on when powering it up.

When pushing the power button to power the receiver on, the receiver you can hear the click sound and the fan goes around for about a few seconds and then stops and the receiver does not come on at all. Do you have any Idea on a reset or something that can be done here to resolve this issue and get this receiver back up and running? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You. Ron

SOURCE: Not powering on

1. The power cord is not completely insered. 2. the impedance selector switch on the rear panel is not fully set to the upper or lower end - (set it when the unit is in the standby mode) other then that, you will have to call for a service.

SOURCE: Yamaha Receiver RX-V630 not working (resets itself immediately)

This maybe an easy one. Have you unhooked all the wires going in to the stereo. "SP wires" means you have wires to the speakers are touching and the stereo is shutting down to avoid overloading. Hope this helps...

SOURCE: Immediate shut

Unplug all the speaker wires first, then unplug the unit from the wall for at least 24 hours, The plug back in without the speaker wires or anything else plugged in. Then see if it goes to the protection mode. If it does not, plug in each speaker at a time, and see if any speaker, when hooked up, makes the receiver shut down. If it does shut down, My friend, I'm afraid you will need to take this unit into a repair shop, OR get a new unit. Good Luck

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V596 Receive turns off after pressing Power

Sometimes the receivers turn off if the speakers are shorted in order to protect the AMP circuit. So try this - 1. Disconnect all cables (speakers), inputs from Tape Deck, VCR and other input devices), sub-woofers, rear speakers all. Except the AC power cord. Then turn it ON and see if it stays on. If it still has the same problem, then most probably your power circuit inside the receiver has a problem - like a shorted Capacitor or diode etc. Based on how technical you can be and what resources and time you want to spend, this is repairable. But based on the price of a receivers these days, it is not worth. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Wont turn on

The solution is to replace the main power relay. I ordered a replacement relay from Vance Baldwin Electronics - part RELAY DC DG12D1-0/M11 RXV2095 (V6881300). After installing the relay this morning, my receiver now stays on continuously like it is supposed to. You can easily fix this yourself in about an hour. All you need is a screwdriver, a soldering iron, and some solder.

Chaz

I can't get the receiver button to work on my remote control. I turned it off some how? VSX-1020k

Hello,
You could try this:
1. Press and hold the R.SETUP, press "4" for three seconds. The LED flashes continuously.
2. Press the number button "1"
Now press the receiver on button. Did it work?
If it doesn't try taking the batteries out of the remote and wait for at least 30 seconds then put them back in and try turning your receiver on again using the remote.

Pioneer VSX-D411 receiver "Amp Error" message

Hello,
Unfortunatelly your receiver has failed. The front panel is telling you one of the power modules is probably bad. Not an DIY type of repair. These parts are near $40.00, plus cost of replacing.
Look at options to replace your trusted receiver with a new one.
Good luck

Won't Power On...

Hello degaff, This is what I would do to try to determine the problem: 1. Disconnect everything from the receiver. The only thing connected should be the power cord. Make sure the power cord is disconnected from power for at least 30 minutes in order to reset the internal electronic software. 2. Then, power it up - still nothing else connected. If it powers up normally and "looks" like it is going to work, then turn it off and connect only the right speaker to its amplifier and try again. If it still looks normal, then turn it off and connect the DVD or CD player and run some music through that speaker. If it still looks normal, then shut it off and connect the left speaker, etc... In other words go one-by-one in checking it out. 3. If it does NOT power up after step ONE, then there is a problem internally. If it powers up only to shut down again, there is still a hardware problem internally. The usual cause is shorted output transistors. And the normal cause of shorted outputs is a short on the speaker line, a short inside one of the speakers or overdriving the amplifier for too long a period of time. If the outputs need replaced, then it will cost an arm and a leg to get them repaired, and you are better off replacing the unit. The clicking sound, by the way, is the power relay which turns the power transformer on. And if there are faults in the amp, speakers or wiring, the protection circuit shuts the relay off; that is the clicking sound you hear. Please let us know how this works, and if we can help you any further. Best regards, nightdiver
