To use the hose attachment, first lift the black plug (above the nozzle side of the vacuum). Next remove the belt from the motor shaft using the belt lifter. Hook the belt on the left side of the shaft and rotate clockwise. Pull the belt gently towards you. See picture 6 (and Part A) of the manual; I've provided the link below. The belt lifter was included if your vacuum came with the attachments. If you need one, that is part 1880262000.

Once the belt is removed, depress the spring clip on the end of the hose. Align the spring clip with groove at the bottom of the opening. Line up the hose and push it into the cavity where the belt was. Pull gently to ensure that the hose is secured to the vacuum.

The manual for the Dirt Devil M08100RED is available on the product site: http://dirtdevil.com/products/details/m08100red/classic-hand-vac/ . The direct link is http://dirtdevil.com/file/1239/ . You can purchase accessories and parts from the manufacturer. Scroll down on the product page and click on the Parts link.

I hope this helps.

Dirt Devil stick vacuum model 083700. How do you use the attachments? Manual is not available online

That is very strange, the parts suppliers list it, but Dirt Devil have no reference. I would contact Dirt Devil and ask why? There is a model M82700 but it is a cylinder vac. The contact details are there on page one.

On my brand new Dirt Devil Endura Reach, when i remove hose to attach the wand, dirt blows out from the place the hose was in. why?

Probably your vacuum needs to be serviced
You have to check filters, check hose if’s clogged, maybe you have clog in the base from the roller to the hole where you connect hose

How to use attachments on a dirt devil edge wedger

You didnt specify the model number, so I'll limit my answer to most common.

On most upright vacs, you disconnect the hose running to the floor pickup and attach the crevice tool (or whatever else you have) to the end of this hose. You then continue cleaning with the hose end atrachment.

I would imaging the Dirt Devil Edge Wedge is similar.

How do I put attachments on classic handheld dirt devil?

They would have to be attachments compatible with that particular model, and they usually come with it as original equipment. but you might try a Google search for Dirt Devil (model number) attachment kit. Also found this on ebay:

Hi there! Below are step-by-step instruction to assembling the hose to the cleaner so that you may use the attachments. I have also included a link to the instruction manual which gives instructions and illustrations as well. Hope this helps!
1. Put cleaner in its upright position. Connect the upholstery attachment to the trigger adaptor.
2. Remove the dirty water tank door.
3. Insert the hose adaptor into the dirty water tank.
4. Connect the base water supply connector into the fitting on the lower left side of handle facing cleaner. You are now ready to do above floor cleaning!

Sounds stupid but how to i connect the hose?

the hose on a dirt devil upright attaches on the side near the bottom of the plastic container that hold the dirt; that end goes in and gives suction to the power head.the other end goes on the other side closer to the top of the plastic container again on the side. If you look at the bottom of the machine you should see a hose going from the power head to the machine and it leads up and attaches to the long hose. It is the other side it attaches near the suction to create the air flow. You can also check your owners manual. Thanks and good luck. If this helps don't for get to click on the yes box on your way out.
