Question about Whirlpool Gold Duet GHW9400P 3.8 Cu. Ft. Front-Loading Washer
Hi, I have a Maytag Neptune MAH4000AWW washer. It is about 8-9 years old, and we have never had a problem with it.
Just two days ago, the washer has started exhibiting a strange symptom.
At the end of a load, the washer has always done some intermittent slow spins, no more than 15 mins or so, and then shuts off and unlocks the door.
Well, now, the washer gets stuck in this slow intermittent spin cycle and never finishes! Door remains locked. Sort of like an endless loop. So I unplug washer and wait 18 minutes like an appliance store says, and now the door is unlocked. I did some digging and found out about the control board and wax motor problems. Checked out the control board....and both R11 and Q6 appear to be fine. No obvious scorching, etc.
My thought was that I have to replace both the control board and wax motor, but at $215 for the both of them, I think that is a last resort. Could this problem be something simpler? This washer does not have a display to show error codes or anything like that.
Any ideas would be great. Thank you for your time.

No, the board and wax motor is one possible problem but more likely youll need the motor kit with spped control. even more expesive but prove to be a big problem with this washer
