First, make sure you power on the piece of equipment you are trying to find the code for, then press the code button until red indicator light turns on, then press the desired mode button (tv, vcr, etc) then press the channel up button until the channel on tv changes or the power turns off on the piece of equipment you are trying to program. lock the code in by pressing the mute button. it could take multiple times to find the code.

direction to forward again.
