I've got a samsung top loader washing machine, it's giving me a DE error code. The door is closed and the message only comes when it's about time to spin

DE = Door Error
• Check the Door-Lock SW terminal connections and contacts.
• Bring the probe of tester into contact with two terminals of Door-Lock SW.[dE Error]

What Samsung is attempting to say is: check the door lock assembly, your machine will not spin if it "thinks" the door is open...

The error code is presented when a "child lock" error has occurred--you will see either "CL" or "DE". You can clear the error after the washer drains. This error condition prevents a child from drowning if he or she should fall into the tub. After the washer drains and the alarm has sounded, close the door, turn the power off, then back on. This instruction set comes straight out of the user manual. What does the code de stands for
On front-load washers, it can stand for "door error", meaning the main control board thinks the door is open. If the door is actually closed and the de error won't clear, the electric door lock could be shorted, giving a false signal to the main control board. On the Samsung top-loader, it means a "child lock error" has happened. On that washer, you will see "CL" or "DE", the washer will auto-drain and an alarm will sound. To clear the error, close the door, turn off the power, then turn it back on.

then you get the DE error then the door interlock has failed
and will need to be replaced

Samsung washer machine error code dE
DE indicates a door lock error.

Either the door lock, wiring or main control board can cause this fault. The door lock is relatively inexpensive so it would be worth trying a new door lock first.

Check the wiring between the door lock and the control board. If a new door lock doesn't fix it and the wiring is ok you are only left with the control board.

Hi, dE MEANS DOOR ERROR,There is a little magnet that detects if the lid is open or closed & this magnet always falls off into the machine then pumped away. (If it gets past the pump with out jamming it).you can't just buy the magnet you have to buy a whole new top & most of the time this cause's the computer to fail as well

Well most of the times problem is in the door lock may be it's faulty. or it could be the door lack has failed/is failing or the control board, try closing the door properly and see if it works....... If further you have the same problem then you need to change the door lock (switch).

Have DE progamme fault...
dE - Door (Front Loader) or Lid (Top Loader) Open Error = Close Door / lid

If error persists, check:
  1. Make sure the load is not too large - try taking some laundry out and see if the error persists.
  2. Wiring harness
  3. Door / lid switch assembly
  4. Unbalance switch
  5. Circuit board for defects.
  6. Check Drum retainer springs are situated correctly and are correctly tensioned.
  7. Make Sure Drum stabiliser struts are not misaligned or broken.

Repair / Replace faulty part.

Error code de on samsung front loader J845
The door lock is the problem... try to push the door harder... or change the door lock! It is usually done in 5 minutes.. .... if it is only 5 months... you have a warrenty!
