Samsung multipixer printer 8230 when i turn on just apear samsung on screen and dont start

hi i installed succesfully samsung scx-4100 printer drivers in my loptop, ihave window xp home in laptop, when i am scaning my document it says the "unknown devise name".when i am printing the document it work very good with out giving any problem . can you please suggest how i can solve this proble. thanks faruk memon

Chances are that you have the same problem as found here. I am guessing that the toner waste container needs to be emptied (you can do it your self) and/or the sensor is acting up.

check the scanner glass (the narrow side), it might be dirty, clean it with a soft cloth and alcohol
