The top drawer on my Fisher Paykel dishwasher keeps giving the error code that the door is open when I try to start it. Is there a switch somewhere that is easily accessible that can be adjusted. or should I call a repair man?
If it is a dish drawer type there is a clip at the rear of the drawer that holds the drawer closed. you will need to withdraw the drawer partially to look in. with the drawer open the fingers should be facing towards you. If not you will need to reach in and pull the top of the fingers towards the front. there is a replacement arm that holds the pipes and cables away from this part.

These use a claw type catch that rotates on a fixed loop catch receiver. Try removing the dishwasher lid, and remove the catch receiver to allow the door to open, With care you can then free the catch, and it will need to be adjusted correctly to prevent over rotation again. In the worst case, you may need to remove the inner door panel to free the door catch / receiver.
The drawer door seal is locked in. This could be either because the controller has lost power or the seal actuator motor is faulty.
You will have to force open the drawer before you can do anything. (Turn off the mains power when you work on the dishwasher)
Let me know if you can handle electric/ mechanical repairs so that I can guide you further. Otherwise you should call a technician. If you are getting beeps then most likely the door seal system is the problem.
Are you able to use the top drawer?
It is likely the drawer seal assembly is not working properly.
You will have to get the drfawer out from the housing and check the top inside of the housing to see if the seal is broken or can be more complex if the seal actuator motors are out of alignment. Will need to call technician if you are not familar with electrical components.
If you keep operating like this then water leak can cause damage to dishwasher.
By no power you may be implying there is no display etc and the swithces are not working. Most likely the controller of the top drawer has had it. The controller is mounted on the front of the drawer behind the door panel. Hope things are better than that.
It may be that the DW thinks the drawer may have been pulled open. On the right side, near the top. there are two light pipes on the
drawer. One sends an infrared beam of light to a reflective area on the
cabinet, the other receives this light. This is how the drawer senses whether the door is open or closed. Wipe these areas with a clean
dry cloth...Give it a try
