How blades numbered 742-0544 are there on that model? 2 or 1??

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You need to provide me with your model number. It should be on a label after you open the dryer door.

The blower fan blade is internal and you will need to disassemble the unit to access it. It's location is based on what you model number is.

What makes you think your problem is the fan blade? It may have just become jammed. It could be just plugged up with lint. If you have a broke vane you should still be able to run. If it is cracked from dry heat, then you have 2 issues.

Send me the model number and tell me more about what is going on.

See pages 18, 19 and 21 of this manual. This model has 2 blades. I don't know your model number so could not download EXACT model manual. These diagrams and pics are very clear. Hope it helps.

1. Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark

plug. Refer to Preparing for Maintenance

2. Tip the mower onto its side with the air filter up.

3. Remove the

2 blade nuts (A)

and the

stiffener (B).

4. Remove the

blade (C).

5. Install the blade and the stiffener that you

removed in steps 3 and 4.

6. Install the blade bolts and torque them to 15 to
27 ft-lb (20 to 37 N?m).

The replacement blade part number is:
108-3762-03 (google / net search)

Depending on which version of the 1840 you have and when it was built it could be several blades...

Please get your model and serial number and then enter them into the following site's search engine. You should then be able to identify the parts you need.

A model number would be necessary. Look for a label with a model RYxxxxx.
You can see an illustrated parts listing by going to www.homelite.com. Click on the parts tab. It will send you to their parts vendor's website. Then type in your model number and you can see the parts breakdown. If your blades are rivited together, just buy a new set of blades. If your blades are bolted together, then it is possible to sharpen them.
I would still recommend to know how much new blades are. In my area, there are only 2 repair shops that sharpen hedgers, and they both charge more than $50 to do this.

Your Poulan riding mower was made by American Yard Products. For the AYP 38" mower, you have 2 options for blades. 1. #131322 heavy duty blade 2. #193957 mulching blade. You should be able to order these thru www.searspartsdirect.com also try www.amazon.com

You have to post the model number from under seat. Not all Craftsman decks are the same. There are 38", 42", 46" w/3 blades, 46" w/ 2 blades, 52", etc.. Better yet, Get the model number under the seat (starts with 917) and go to... http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action Then enter the model #, hit search, then scroll down to Browse Subcomponent List and click on Mower Deck. There's your diagram.

It depends on the planer blade set that you are using. If you are using the the 2 sided blades there is a guage that goes with it to set the blade depth before installing. I would strongly recommend that you go to Makitatools.com and type in your model number and download a copy of the owners manual for specific instructions.
