Gorenje has some documentation for their washers here: http://www.gorenje.com/simplicity/en/washing_machines/simple_manual_for_washing . The numbers indicate the water temperature (in Celsius) for a given cycle. The common choices are a cottons load in hot water (60 degrees). This is great for towels and other whites. The mixed load is for permanent press that can be in warm water (40 degrees). Then there is a cold water cycle for delicates (30 degrees). However, you should check the fabric care label before choosing the cycle.
I hope this helps.

My washing machine doesn't have symbols it only has numbers 1 to 12 it's a few years old so I need something to tell me what each number means, i.e. program 1 = delicate wash 30 degrees etc.
I apologize for the mistake. Can you check the model code on the rating plate of the washer? Gorenje doesn't seem to show any documentation for the WI 62112. I see parts for a WDI62112. Gorenje manuals are available for some models here:http://www.gorenje.co.uk/support/manuals .
It looks like your washer is closer to the WDi2201 or the WDI63113. The manual for the first is here:http://www.caple.co.uk/downloads/manuals... . The program numbers are given on page 80 (page 13 of 25 of the PDF). On this model, regular cottons (color fast items) at 60 degrees C would be washed on program 5. The WDi2201 is by Caple. The Gorenje WDI63113 manual is here:https://partners.gorenje.si/fts/GetDigit... . The Program chart is on page 4 (page 6/6 of the PDF).
I hope this helps.
