This model takes a different cord to plug into the wall. I need to replace this cord

The plug on the bottom of the phone is smaller than a standard phone jack. I need a cord with this jack at one end and a regular jack at the other.

Disconnect a landline

Dear Irmgard,
If you will trace the cords to the landline, you might find a power cord that is larger and a phone cord that is smaller.
The smaller one should have a plastic clip, either at the end of the cord that plugs in to the phone or perhaps at the other end of the cord that plugs in to a tiny hole on the wall.
Either one of these should you should be able to disconnect by depressing the tiny tab on the clip and pull gently on the cord
. God bless your efforts.

How to plug in power cord it is not the normal looking cord it has round like prongs and i need to plug it in the wall

Most UK models they come with the cord fitted from inside. Make sure is a UK model first, check the label at the to see if the input voltage is 240v. if not is an imported model ie: the different socket at the back.

Hi, my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. You may be use to small a breaker, it need to have a 20 amp breaker, next, somebody may have put a smaller gauge wire for the cord, you need to have at least a 12gauge or 10gauge wire. the wire will have it written on it. Thanks for choosing FixYa...John

I just bought one

Typically the wire bends often and severely at the plug (i.e. when using storing, etc.) Every time it bends, there is a chance that the small copper strands in the wire break. The more strands that break, the smaller the wire effectively is. When electricity passes through a wire with a lot of resistance (such as the now-smaller wire right at the plug), it gets hot.
Bottom line: replace the cord before it starts a fire. Failing that, you might be able to cut off the bad section of cord and install a new plug where the cord is still good.

Human touch HTT 800 just beeping from back, not remote

Just had this problem with our HTT 800. Discovered it was the curled phone-like cord attached to the remote that had been chewed through by one of our dogs. Some electric tape fixed it right up. Still looking for a replacement. Anyone know where I can find one? A standard-size phone cord does not work with this, as it is too large.

Handset problem

It sounds like you have a defective handset cord or handset. First, at your phone, switch your handset with another phones handset that you know for sure works. From your phone make a test call. If the caller can now hear you, the original handset from your phone is defective. If the caller still can not hear you, switch your handset cord with another handset cord from another phone that you know works. From your phone make another test call. If the caller can hear you, then your original handset cord is defective. You can purchase another handset cord from your local office supply store. Your phone uses a standard handset cord. It may be difficult to match the original color of your handset cord. Be sure to take your defective handset cord with you, so you can try to match the color. If the caller still does not hear you. Put your original handset and original handset cord back on your phone. Then plug your phone in to another wall jack, that you know works with another phone. The other phone needs to be an identical phone to yours (same number of buttons and same model number. The model number can be found under the phone). Wait approximately 90 seconds, sometimes longer, after you plug your phone into the other wall jack. Now, make another test call from your phone. If the caller can now hear you from your phone with it plugged into another working jack, then you have a defective station port or jack where your phone was originally plugged in at. If the caller still can not hear then you have a defective phone.

Fax replacement parts

The jacks generally used for handsets on fax machines are a smaller (fewer contact positions) version of the one that are used for the wall-mounted outlets.
Unless the Brother handset jack looks totally different than the one in which the fax machine is currently plugged at the wall, then the handset jack should look pretty much the same but smaller.
A friend or relative may have a retired corded phone that they haven't tossed out yet so check with them before poking around to look for a replacement as described below.
If you are in the US, check the dollar stores and chain drugstores for corded telephones. Coming from China, they shouldn't cost more than $10 US and may have the exact same connector attaching the handset to the base of the phone. Check them if possible before hitting the cash-register since it is becoming more common to have the handsets on these cheap phones permanently wired to the base which, of course, makes them useless for your needs. Most stores though will let you return the item for a refund.
Checking a couple of stores, you may even find it possible to match the color of the fax machine with your substitute handset.

Plugs for Linea Model La Marrazco Expresso

The smaller cord goes to the external pump. DO NOT put a cord cap on this and plug it into the wall, you will cause significant damage to the machine and the wall.

You should have a large oblong shaped pump with wires coming out of it that is separate from the machine. You need it to run the machine. If you need a pump, let me know.
