May I know what Operating System you are using?? Usually what you need to do is go to Control Panel >> System and Security >>
Under Windows Firewall >> Allow a program through windows firewall / allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall >> There you can change the program setting (the ones with checkboxes)
Find yahoo messenger and make sure you allow it on your network (private or public).
The problem could be the operating software (Windows XP, Vista, 7), but it sounds most likely like a firewall problem. If you have a firewall program installed like the one that automatically comes on Windows 7, it doesn't allow much to be installed unless you tell it to allow it. Also, Windows 7 needs a patch to allow the Futura software to install and run (available at www.Futura-support.com). Download the patch. When you go to run it, be sure you're off the internet (right click on Windows Explorer icon that appears in the lower left corner of your screen and choose Close Window). Now left click on the Start icon in the lower left corner. Choose "Systems and Security" in the right column, then "Windows Firewall". On the lefthand side will be the second choice of "Turn Windows Firewall On or Off." You're only going to turn the Firewall off long enough to install the Patch and, YES IT IS SAFE! Once you've installed the patch, go immediately back in and turn your firewall back on.
If you use another firewall program (i.e., Norton, McAfee, Computer Associates), you'll have to refer to their Help on how to allow this to install, though their programs will probably ask if you want to install this software rather than just block it. Unless you set Windows 7 firewall to ask you, it just blocks everything.
I would turn OFF the Norton Firewall and then download your patch. If you have a complete Norton Security System you might have to turn all of it off. Then when the patch is downloaded turn everything back on and do a virus scan to make sure nothing got in while things were turned off. Norton and McAfee are the 2 most annoying programs made. When I run my windows hard drive(s) I use free stuff and I haven't had any issues with them.
What firewall do you have?
They all have options to configure. You could allow the patch utility access.
Another way to do this is by downloading the patch manually from Blizzard's site. (I hope you don't need a link to find it)
is it not installing, try to browse setup.exe or install file for the game, right click and choose run as administrator..it should be installed w/o any problems,or if you were able to install this and the game just crashes upon playing it,you need to put it to compatibility mode,To do this search for freespace.exe (Probably in C:\Program
Files\Volition\", right click and select the "compatibility" tab. Check
the box that says "run this program in compatibility mode for" and
select "Windows 98"
It requires a port opened on your firewall to work. Check with the software to find out which ones they need and then open the ports using the ip address of the router in internet explorer. Type in your user id and password. Go to Applications and gaming. Go to port triggering. Type in the application name on the first column and add the starting and ending port to the trigering range.
Error Code: 51031 - I had same problem. Worked one day, not the next. I went into Wii Settings/ Internet/ Connection Settings/ Conection 1,2 or 3/ Clear Settings. Then click 'Search for access point'. Click on your your home internet (Sky, Virgin, O2 or whatever), input WEP (written on base of router) or private password if you changed the WEP when you first got broadband installed in your house and it should connect.
