HOW TO CHANGE INK RIBBON OR ROLLER

If it is an ink printer, the ink ribbon or roller is probably running out of ink. Buy a new roller or ribbon and try it.
If it is a thermal printer, the paper rolls may be low grade. Try buying thicker high grade paper rolls. If that doesn't work, the print head in the printer probably needs replacing.

It's the ink roller you need to replace - it's on page 3 of the user manual (attached link to it). Canon P23 DHV User Manual Page 3

What model is the calculator and if it's a inker type then you have to replace the ink roller. If it's the ribbon type then you have you replace the ribbon. You can pick those inker or ribbon from Edmonton Cash Register Co. Ltd. or send us a email to order

If I am not mistaken the EL1197 is the ink roller type. It has the red/black and it's the IR40T. If that's the one replace the ink roller. If it's a ribbon type then replace the ribbon. It's about $5. Email me if there is any problem

What does this mean? "ink roller". I''ve never have never heard the term. Does you mean ink ribbon roll? Why would you need to clean anything with that type?

One the right hand side of the ink roller there is a little tab on the plastic, if you put your finger under that tab you can easily lift out the ink roller & replace it with the new one.....it snaps into place.

You need an IR40T Ink Roller

i had a problem with this as well and found a user manual online. I thought the whole thing came out but it doesn't. If you pull up on the little red thing on right and then the black one on the right you have it. Imagine that! That's all that you change. Then just put some new ones in and your good to go.

It takes a CP-13 ink roller. The cheapest I could find was a 5 roll set online at the Canon store. It is $16 wth a $5.99 shipping and handling charge. They also charge sales tax. The rollers can be bought at many places including ebay. It's removed by pulling up on the right hand little tab part. The new one should snap right in. Be careful not to touch the ink section. The roller is the same for any P23-DH machine it doesn't matter what Roman numeral one you have.

Hi...This calculator takes a IR-40T ink roll.
Turn off the power.
Open the top cover,
There is a flat tab on the ink roller, lift up, remove.
Hold the new roller by the tab, line it up in the slot and snap in.
Turn on the power and test.
If it doesn't work you might not have it snapped in properly or all the way.
