Hi can you please advise where in birmingham u.k i can have my plasma screen replaced as it has been smashed although the plasma itself is in full working order.
You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new plasma. My daughter broke my 1600 LCD. It would have cost 1200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect you TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it.
It is to expense to replace, I have talked to Daewoo parts and it cost about 2000 dollars for the panel. Better off finding another broken tv, that does not have a broken display panel and fixing yourself.

No, not really but you need to know specific information to make sure the one you get is compatible. If you're good with electronics you should be ok doing it yourself but this seems like a good deal:
Most of the times smashed screen means the end of plasma tv. Although if your tv model is older than 3 years, you could search for same model broken tv's with working screens since power supplies usually last for a few years in modern flat panels. Though you will need a qualified serviceman to do the assembly from two faulty units into a working one.
Yes it can be fixed most certainly. You have broken your Plasma screen and most certainly scratched your filter glass with the broken screen glass inside. Depending on where you bought the TV, and whether you have a cover plan, you may get the Tv screen & Filter replaced under accidental damage. If the TV is still under warranty and you dont have a cover plan, you may find the repair will be refused. If so, you could maybe buy the same tv off ebay as repairs or spares and fix yours.
It may well be repairable since it probably isn't that old but with the plunge of flat panel prices, it may cost more to repair than replace. If you replace the whole set, don't buy another plasma; while they are a tad better than the LCDs of the period it was manufactured, there isn't much difference in the two systems today and the LCD display will not decay over time as the plasma is known to do.
Well If the LCD breaks, do not touch the glass or liquid. Contact Kodak customer support. Advise, it will really cost you more to replace the lcs rather than buying a new camera.
