    Hi

I have a Centrex CTAR60GW with exactly the same problem. I have done everything suggested and am about to throw it off the balcony. What I have noticed is that when it does stop after a min or 2 the timer light comes on again even if I reset and turn the timer off or rest and turn it on for 12.

I have a manual for this model if you would like me to photocopy it for you if it is same as yours.

    Hope someone can help

remote won't work & i need a new one --- how do i get it?

  • Anonymous Jan 01, 2009

I have a similar problem. For a few years it was great, in the last year, it just cuts out after 15 minutes and won't blow air unless I switch off the unit, yet the green light still flashes. I was going to call Centrex, but if they're in receivership. I'm also in a rental and am convinced it was just a cheap unit with a definite useby date. Manual troubleshooting guide doesn't give an indication.

Where can you get another remote for Centrex air con units? We've lost ours and can't seem to find another remote anywhere.

I cannot help with you remote problem but wonder if anyone knows whether the Centrex CTAR35GW is a heater as well as an air conditioner.  It is in a rental property  and the agent says that it does heat, but has not provided a manual. I can only get it to blow refrigerated air.  If it is a heater as well how can we turn the heating on.  Pity Centrex is in receivership.

Hi my name is Danny, it sounds like the remote you have is not setting to cool or heat independantly, ie setting unit to auto heat and cool, check the setting on the remote, alternatively there is a remote you can buy which will do almost all types, comes with a set of codes on packaging to set the remote to brand you have.

In regard to unit turning off and light flashing, try turning power off to air-con at swichboard for 1 min then try again. good luck.

Would any one be able to recommend a universal remote control that would work on a Centrex CTAR70GW split air conditioner? Thanks

Even if you find one you would need an original remote to program it .
You could try a cheap Universal TV remote if able to program with an original one .

My Split system Centrex CTAR60GW turns off about 10 minutes of cooling, the actual unit flashes on the timer button, have cleaned it replaced batteries and had 4 technicians out to have a look all of which...

Dear friend. the timer problem is very common. Remove battery from remote and also remove power to unit. Again plug power on unit and start with remote and try to cancel the timer on and off. Press set.
And also cool setting must be minimum 3 degree less than room temperature. Helpful advise?

Anyone know where I can get a fan motor for the indoor unit of my centrex CTAR65GW split system air conditioner. i think the motor may be generic for most of the cheaper split air conditioners. Denis

Hi,
I buy alot of those motors through www.grainger.com

match up the hp, rpm, shaft size, mounting, voltage, etc... this can take a bit, but you will find a motor for partically anything there...
