as the system os is in the hard drive, and there should be nothing of yours on the hard drive, the easiest way will be to get a new hard drive ( SSHD ) and on start up get to bios and change from HHD boot to external boot and boot from your OS cd or stick
on start up it will install your OS from the external source
when done go back to bios and change to boot from SSHD and then delete any bios password and don't install any
Running linux from a USB hard drive is a great way to install Linux without affecting your Windows hard drive that is already on your computer!
First of all you will need to download the Linux operating system of choice. For me, I use Ubuntu Linux. You can download the ISO from the Ubuntu website.
Once you download the ISO image, you will need to burn it to a CD. Once this is done it is time to start installing!
*NOTE - I would remove the windows hard drive prior to installing. That was I can make sure I don't accidentally overwrite my Windows partition! You can put your hard drive back in the computer when you are done installing.
Place the CD/DVD into your drive and shut down your computer. Plug in your portable USB hard drive and turn the computer on. If your computer doesn't say "please press any key to boot from CD" then you will need to change your BIOS settings to boot from CD before booting from Hard drive.
Once the CD drive boots up you will be given the option to run Linux or to install it. Choose install, follow the prompts for networking/computer name etc and make sure you don't install it on your Windows hard drive partition!
Once Linux is installed on the portable hard drive all you will need to do is make sure you can boot your computer from a USB hard drive. This is done in the BIOS settings to choose your boot order.
You can remove or change the Window's User oradministrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access todownload the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD.
Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot upthe laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions.
There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CDwhich contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removalprogram.

Depending on the make/model/os, and various other things, you'll need to reformat/reinstall. There might be a recovery partition you can boot to to reformat to factory settings. Look around on google for your make/model and "recovery partition" to find out how to access it. If there's no recovery partition, you'll need to install your own operating system. Purchase Windows, or download a linux DVD, then put it in your CD drive and boot to the CD (usually you can change boot order in BIOS settings or as it boots. Look for things like "F2 for system settings" as the bios is loading. You can also hit the pause/break key (might need to hold down function) to halt the bios so you can look a little easier). Once it boots to the CD drive, your operating system should start the installer sequence.
Hi Thanks for your question
In order to boot from the CD drive you must change the Boot Order in BIOS.
In order access BIOS you must press certain key on the keyboard during start up. Depending on the machine it may be F1, F2, F3, F10 or Delete key.
Once you acces BIOS you must find Boot order settings. Again depending on machine this may look different, but most of the time it's a separate Tab or settings may be in general part in BIOS setup. When you find it you have to place CD/DVD drive on the top of the list of Boot Order and before exiting BIOS sace changes. Now your machine should Boot up form CD and you should be able to install Windows 7. Do not hesitate to ask more questions if further assistance is needed. Good Luck
try ubuntu which is a good version of linux, search on google..Now if you really want to install another o/s then you need to change BIOS setting to boot from cd first on start up screen. For most pcs it;s normally a delete or F2 button but hace a look at boot up it will say something like press del or F2 to change...
1st, install windows or if you have already its good .
Then, download Linux distribution that suits You better Download It and burn into a CD or DVD with ISO file you can use Magic ISO or other manufacturer
then Go to BIOS setup and set 1st priority is the CD or DVD drive and save and exit
and install follow the instruction of linux.
also if you chose capacity of windows or linux is to little dont worry you can make install a partition magic and resize what you like....
PS: pls rate me if my solution solve the issue and you need more further information. but if is invaluable solution rate me fixya.
you should be able to exit and save changes, which my guess is you are exiting without saving the changes. theres is a way around this, by pressing either F8, F9, F10, or F12 to access the boot menu, and then you can boot from cd to install your linux operating system
