The most common cause is dust inside the projector that leads to overheating & auto shutdown. If you have an air compressor you can use the blow tip accessory to blow as much dust out as you can without taking apart the projector. You may get by using a can of compressed air available at Walmart, etc. electronics section. Concentrate on vented areas & where you can see or hear any fans. Do this outside so it doesn't make a mess. If you know how to take out the lamp there's usually close access to the main cooling fan through the lamp compartment, blow air through there & it will follow the right path to exit correctly without blowing dust all over the inside.

Hello Look at the number of blinks of the status light. If it blinks at one cycle (0.5seconds On and 2.5seconds OFF) : Lamp cover error or lamp housing error. Replace the lamp cover or lamp housing correctly. If it blinks 2 cycles (0.5 seconds ON and 0.5 seconds OFF): Temperature error. The projector is overheated. Move the projector to a cooler position. if it blinks at 4 cycles (0.5 seconds ON and 0.5 seconds OFF): Fan error. Fans sill not work correctly. If it bliks at 6 cycles (0.5 seconds ON and 0.5 seconds OFF): Lamp fails to light. Wait a full minute and then turn on again. If it blinks continous (Red): Lamp has reached the end of its life. Lamp replacement messege will be displayed. Replace Lamp with same type and number. After replacement reset lamp hour. OK.
if Power is flashing orange - then it's cooling down
if Status is flashing red - then there are 4 flash combinations.
1 cycle (0.5sec On, 2.5sec Off) lamp cover or housing error
2 cycle (0.5sec On, 0.5sec Off) temperature error
4 cycle (0.5sec On, 0.5sec Off) fan(s) error
6 cycle (0.5sec On, 0.5sec Off) lamp error
if the status light is blinking red in 4 sec interval it means that there is something wrong with cooling system. you shold check if there is a thermostat failure or if there are any switches that are not turned on. i suggest you to open the device (using screwdriver) and check if there are any switches broken or damaged.
i had pretty much the same problem (one second interval). i took off the cover and there was a broken switch and i just short-circuit it and now it works
