It is an error code. The thermal fuse in the freezer section has gone. It has to be replaced. To get by in the short term, uplug the unit for 15 minutes, then plug it back in. It will run until it hits the defrost again (approx 5 hours) Part location is 401A and part number is 6615JB2005C. It is easy to change once you get the back cover off. Plug in part.

Pull the power cord for 5 minute to reset the control board. if this control panel malfunction still exist after the reset, replace the control circuit board.
This is a typical control fault that should be corrected by pulling power for 5 minutes. if not, this reset will confirm major damaged to the circuit board.

I am surprised you were able to do diagnostics without the service manual or do you have one? I think you need to test each thermistor per test point on the motherboard. If the damper door is electric controlled then you must locate the thermistor that appears to be whacking out on you. My manual is about the only copy I have of GE's Artica/Profiles and I see yours appears to be bottom freezer. I think the thermistor is not signaling correctly and may be located near the auto vent.
