The old saying that a pictures is worth a thousand words could have been looking at this one... If the lower screen had been streaked in B&W or bands ran completely through the picture Old Drummer I would suspect the logic board also but that's lower y-board failure.

SOURCE: I have a Samsung Ln32A450c1d

Hi,
Basically it is problem of LCD Panel (screen) however some times T-Con board replacement fixed the issue (T-Con board is part of lcd panel but some part shop sell it separately). Main board is not related with this kind of problem.
Required T-Con board is available in ShopJimmy.com (click the link to view available boards)
If T-Con board replacement does not solve half screen vertical lines problem then LCD Panel will be replaced and it would cost approx new tv price.
Hope this info will help.
Thanks.

The left and right side of my tv keeps flickering. No rhyme or rhythm to it but it flickers like in the picture for about a half sec. And will do it randomly. Ive tried several different main boards as...

It has a T,Con board, but it is integraged with the LCD screen, and cannot be replaced. In most cases, flickering can be corrected at its service mode. Try that. You have to enter the service mode of the set to do it. A factory reset alo might help. To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

I would venture a guess that it is the main board. You should be able to find one cheap on ebay, then go to you tube for a "how to replace" video. Not hard to replace.
Good luck...

It's the motherboard in the tv, you Will have to get it replaced, if you have warranty still, then you'll be fine if not $165-$185 for replacement, (your Samsung warranty will cover this). This is exactly what happened to me

Unfortunately what you have is a fried screen. Toss it at the city dump and get a new TV. Wallmart has 36 and 45 inch TV's for under 300 dollars
Good luck

Ok t-con board is connected to main board which is giving signal and logic supply.. If the main board failed or giving a over voltage to the t-con it possibly your T-con gone out (new) again.

To isolate the problem try to replace the main board.
