Question about Allen & Heath Xone-22 2 Channel Dj Mixer

I get a static buzzing noise out both speakers. it stops if I hold the plug cable or master out cables? turntable wires are grounded. help!

If this is stopping when you grab a connector then you have a bad solder on the connector. a short or break in the wire or a ground is bad.

This is a common problem... Make sure your amp is plugged into a three wire grounded receptacle. Keep the guitar away from magnetic fields of transformers in amps and effects units. Make sure you have a high quality guitar cable.

First thing: Make sure ALL and I do mean ALL of your interconnected equipment is POWERED from the SAME receptacle. Powering different parts from different receptacles in a building will surely get ground bounce buzz and ALSO subject the equipment to hazards of circuit damage.
The audio connecting cables should be BALANCED lines where possible... either XLR or TRS cables. Problems like you are having are common when CONSUMER grade equipment is mixed with PROFESSIONAL equipment. Anyway, get all the stuff powered from the same receptacle and get back to me if you still have the problem. Note you may have to run three wire extension cords if devices are separated a bit... the pro's have to do that to avoid noise. All devices should have three wire (grounding) cords and/or grounding wires connecting chassis...

Noise , sounds like ungrounded, all the cables are fine , the connection is grounded

so its a buzzing noise. are your turntables grounded? some dont have to be. the buzzing could be several things feedback from something around you or the mixer is buzzing cause of to much power. just mess around w stuff your not gonna break it. and what i mean about that is more wires check wires. dont preform open heart surgery on your equptment. sometimes the buzzing means the faders are going i own 3 vestax mixers and on my pmc 17a right before the faders went i had massive buzzing sound.

1000 Watts? Well, those are peak values. !000 watts RMS into a 12 inch speaker and it would smoke... this is some of our inflated advertising. But that is beside rhe point... now on to your problem: What you are having is a ground loop. You may have to do more than one thing to correct this here is the things to do in the order to do them to solve the problem:

1. Connect the piano and the speaker to the SAME power source or receptacle, even if you have to run an extension cord, three wire of course. Plug all of this ONLY into a grounded outlet, if your house has only two wire plugs, then you need to get an electrician to install a grounded receptacle.

2. Use Balanced lines. This means XLR or TRS balanced cables between the piano and the speaker. Use the 1/4 inch jacks output, not the RCA ones.

3. Since the AUX outputs do not support balanced lines, the next step require you use DI box. They are about $20 from Guitar Center and others. With very short 1/4 inch mono cable connect the piano to the DI box from the L/R mono piano to the high impedance input port of the DI and set the ground lift switch to "LIFT". Use an XLR to XLR cable from the DI box to the speaker. This last step if needed is the last thing in our bag of tricks to break the ground loop that can cause the buzz. Dirty power, if you have lamp dimmers can be a source of the noise.

Static and crackling noise from the right speaker

It could be that the input jack is or cable is damaged. The input to the right speaker is from the left speaker via speaker cable. Check that wire and try a new one. All speakers are susceptible to some type of interference. Make sure the cables aren't tangled and free from other powered equipment.

Did you have this speaker AND the device that drives it connected to the same power source? If run by a mixer you MUST run a power extension from the same place your powered speakers are powered to the mixer. Ground bounce due to wiring in a building can destroy input circuits due to ground faults and static discharges. ALWAYS use balanced lines either XLR or TRS cables to interconnect the audio.

Also verify your power receptacle is properly wired. Carry one of those plugs with the indicators showing receptacle is wired correctly. Don't plug anything in until you verify it. Some venues are noted as having bad electical service.

Let your speaker sit for a minute and repower it... sometimes they have a lockout that takes time to reset.

If your guitar is not connected and the cable alone causes the oscillation, I would certainly question the QUALITY of that cable.

Poorly sheilded cables can pick up ground loops.

If you short the contacts of the cable at the guitar end and that stops the oscillation, I would try a higher quality instrument cable. MAKE SURE the cable you are using is an INSTRUMENT cable and not a SPEAKER cable which I can guarantee would cause the problem.

The Line 6 amps are NOT noted for reliability so I would NOT let that oscillating conditipon persist for any length of time.

Do NOT use excessive gain at the front end,,, use higher master volume and less front end gain if you are having ground loops.

It is a poor ground but it is not necessarily in your amp.
If it is only buzzing when you have a guitar or other piece of equipment connected try a new lead cable.
If it buzzes all of the time......remove the cover at the rear of the amp and remove control panel.
Inspect the feed line to the input. If it is loose or broken....repair or take to have repaired.

My spider III 15 watt buzzes whenever i have a cable plugged in.

MAKE sure you have it connected to a three wire circuit that has the ground. A lot of these style amps will buzz if they are left ungrounded.

Also search for sources of buzzing light light dimmers.

Further, power supply electrolytic filter caps are suspect.

If you are saying that you are plugging a guitar cord into an input on an amp without the guitar on the other end and you are getting a hum or buzz with the volume turned up ; that is normal. If you are getting the same results with a guitar plugged in it means the ground wire to your output jack on your guitar is broken. Check your cord with a volt ohm meter for continuity on the tip on one end to the tip on the other end. Do this for the sleeve on one end to the other. If you were getting the buzz without a cable it would mean that your input jack in your amp has a broken ground connection. Hope this helps.
