It is telling you that there is a problem with your hard drive. If you know how to get to your bios screen and have a recovery CD you should be able to restore it. That is IF the hard drive is in fact not defective. Otherwise you will need to to take it to someone who does computer repair and either let them replace the hard drive or depending on your ability do so yourself or purchase another laptop

I've put my HM250HI hard disk into my Compaq desktop what is the boot sequence

old PC day this
SAMSUNG Spinpoint M7 HM250HI (2009) 12 years old? (sata )"nos?)"no COMPAQ PC MODEL TOLD (LAST ONE WAS 2013)
AND VASTLY OLDER. NOt TOLD. even 21 years old.
the drive new in a box (NOS) has no OS,
is the goal windows, 7? or what?
do you have have install media.?

boot order is in BIOS. pages.
and HDD0 is the boot driver, top of list it boots first if you set it to first, in BIOS.
your PC is 2001 to 2013 made, 2001 is first PCs with hdd SATA interface ports.
HP bought compaq in 2002. so yours may be pure HP.
your PC has service tag that tells full model name.
the first step working on relics is
a new RTC CMOS coin cell battery it is due. or soon.
if not good the battery BIOS goes mad, and can not find boot drives.
and 128 other errors bios can not understand with a dead battery
so it is first. first.

new battery
in bios click reset BIOS to factory defaults.
set date and time in bios
set PXE to disable on all pages seen in bios. if seen.
boot order HDD0 first
click save, click exit and cold boot.

a compaq 6300 has the service tag on top front. edge
and product number too that tells all options it had day1.

we smart test the HDD first, ask.

Turned on computor Acer Aspire z3-115 it comes up reboot. And select proper boot device. How do I fix problem

Ok all this is basics, PC 101 stuff.
z3 115 all in ONe desktop? that?
no screen posted by you of errors, making any accurate answers impossible (toss dice"?")_
Most bios this old will do that if 2 things happen ,
1: THE hdd IS DEAD. and if dead so will be...
2: THE hdd OS is corrupted. w8.1 is what it had NEW.
in real shop we test the HDD first or the recovery time goes to
INFINITY , so we are savvy never to skip, HDD testing first.
we use a Linux boot disk (demo) and run SMART tests first.
always that first. or you will not get the recovery hot key to work.
if upgraded to w10 that dooms the HOT recovery key.
(only the official w10 disk set from Acer will work sure)

your manuals and drivers (no OS stated)
are here
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5450?b=1

the error select proper boot device really means
BIOS scanned up to 6 or media ports and all are dead.
NO boots found, for sure HDD0 is dead.
or "the normal boot device is dead"
that is the HDD,
but if you insert boot USB it will not be dead, see?

When i power on it goes to window with boot menu and application menu, what do i do to get past this, bios setup

double posted

any random PC will do that when the HDD is bad
you double posted why? this post has more words
but my guess is the PC failed to boot windows
and then went to the F1 BIOS startups screen
it had 2 choices, boot or if no boots found show F1.
so it did.
and then you click startup tab below and HDD0 is missing.

f1-cv44t0m11lwirxrgkrdmeseg-3-0.jpg

f1b-cv44t0m11lwirxrgkrdmeseg-3-2_0.jpg this is your PC with a dead HDD0. if there are on words to the right
like seen at HDD2, that means the HDD0 is DEAD drive.
or missing or unplugged. if can't hear it spin that to is a dead drive. HDD0:

How to fix error 2100: hdd0

The ThinkPad system may experience a bluescreen that may only appear for a very short time, followed by a reboot. During POST, the system will display a POST 2100 error code indicating the drive cannot be initialized. The machine will not boot into the operating system.
NOTE: Powering the system fully off and then on again after 20-30 seconds will usually clear the error, but a warm reboot will not.
IT have personally experienced this issue twice so far, & Lenovo posted an advisory on this in July.
If you have encounter this issue since getting your T440 notebook, it's highly recommended to update your SSD to this new firmware.
The firmware updater is windows based, & is non-destructive (does not affect existing data) so it's easy to update.
To be absolutely safe though, it's recommended to back up your essential data before installing this firmware update.

ThinkPad may bluescreen and reboot to POST error 2100 Lenovo Support US

Also recommended is to use CCleaner registry cleaner which solves the problem temporarily.

Error 2100 HDD0 Hard Disc drive initialization error (1)

Interesting.

I have only encountered this issue since using Audlogics software to remove duplicate files on my machine.

Nothing against Audlogics, I have used it before to remove duplicate images or mp3s without any problems.

This time I (maybe foolishly) scanned the entire machine and removed every duplicate file with every extension (whilst keeping an original)

Since then my machine crashes, especially when using Chrome, and gives this error upon restart. It will eventually restart.

It works fine in safe mode and does not crash at all.

I am about to go back in and try it in normal mode and run various software to see which one causes the crashes.

I'm confident that the hard drive is still fine though.

Hard drive not working..unable to boot up. Get this error message : 2100: Detection error on HDD0 (Main HDD) Press Esc to continue

Please try re-seating the hard drive.

If you look at the bottom of your laptop, along the edge there should be a screw larger then all the rest which holds a small panel. Remove this screw and panel. Remove the drive pulling lightly, with steady pressure, straight out. Place the drive back in and screw the panel back.

We had a lot of these issues, and they were often solved by just this manner alone.

Let us know if we have to go any further.
Good luck
