Video comes on for about 20 seconds then goes out. Sound is ok. All lighting that I can see on back of tv goes out. A red led on the main power board flashes on at about a 2 second rate. The blue power light stays on.

I had one of theses in recently. The customer "repaired it himslf." Then it gave the same symptom you describe. Turns out he mixed up two of the connectors on the main board. the one with the power supply (red and black wires) has the same number of pins as the keyboard plug, and they will fit each others spots. This burned out chip resistors on the main board, which had to be replaced before the set would work again. I don't remember the exact plug location numbers, but one was on the lower left of the main board, and has 7 pins.

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.
Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV
up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors.
Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although
were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of
preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected
due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.
Hope this helps

There are two possible problem of your tv, first is the mother board your right and the second is the power supply. If there is a bulge up or leaky capacitor in the power supply it will cause the mother board to malfunction, this bad capacitor produces low and unfiltered dc output it is producing current but not sufficient to power up your unit if you remove the back cover of your tv try to look those capacitor and replace it, the bulge up is that the top is not perfectly flat like the others and the leaky capacitor has a wet mark at the bottom of the capacitor. but remember when you replace the capacitor you should observe the proper position because it has a polarity. Note unplug the unit before removing the back cover, feel free to send feed back good day and best regards.

Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:
1. Open the back cover.
2.
Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main
board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light
inverter..
3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..
4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...
5.
If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors
are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you
can purchased new power supply board..
6. If the problem is on
main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new
main board that fits to your TV..
Hope this solution will be helpful..
