Replace the batteries from the remote control. Press and hold the TV button on remote for 5 seconds. If the red light shines bright, your remote is OK since it is showing it's programmable side. If unit still won't go on using the remote, reboot the whole system by unplugging the power cord and other wire from the Subwoofer. Wait one minute, then replug all and see if the system displays BOSE 321 in front when re-connected. If so, try the remote and if that doesn't work, your dead, the Infra red communication device from the unit to the remote is busted inside the unit and needs to be returned to the company like mine!!!!!
Two things can be wrong. remote control or the reciever it self. 1st take the batterry out of the remote and unplug reciever for 1 minute or so. second put the batterry back in the remote and plug the reciever back in and see if any cahnges take place. make sure the battery is good and strong. if nothing take place accept TV and VCR is working from the remote than it would be your reciever IR sensor unit defective and seem to be a common problems with the IR sensor unit although bose will not acknowlege it. there is nothing you can do yourself without electronic background to fix it and trying to fix it your self might ruin the unit. I would contact the manufacture and ship it off to have it fix, after all the unit aint cheap and its worth it to get it fix. hope that help some .good luck
Power off on receiver seemed to clear the problem I was having with no response to remote input
