How do I figure out how much to sell this car for? I'm the girl w/ the blue smoke problem. The blue book price is $1345 (fair condition) It has 176,000 miles on it. . The body is almost in excellent shape, frame is okay, interior is also good but needs engine work. I dont know what a fair price to ask for it is. IT needs rings, new engine, engine replacement, etc. . .I don't want to fraud anybody and not be truthful. . .What's a fair price? I certainly don't think it's worth $1345? I tried ring seal, the first bottle lasted a month, the 2nd one just lasted 2 days, it's probably on it's last legs. . HELP. .I'm just a blonde. . I don't know what a fair price is? . . ANYBODY help me here? Should I call a honda dealer and ask if they're interested? Can I trade in a car that obviously needs a new or rebuilt engine? stressing . . thanks D Who's going to want a car that needs rings , major work?
Yes under the new US/Obama deal you can get 4500 for it at a dealership if you buy a new car. The better the mpg of the car you get determines how much of the 4500 its worth. Other than that I would think 500 would be fair for a car that might not make it home.

Had same problem with 91 Prelude, after rain, water would leak from moonroof, especially when stopping, having a wet neck on the way to work is not fun! Solution was to remove the small screens and restrictor caps on the drain hoses. The hoses can be acessed through the trunk behind the quarter panel cover on either side, just have a can ready for the skanky water to drain once the plugs are removed. When all clear, the drains should drain out right behind the mud flaps in the rear on each side. There are fron drains as well, these run behind the driver and passanger kick panels and drain around the mud flaps in the front.
This possible solution is also weird. I have a '91 Prelude Si also- GREAT car. Do you have anti-lock brake option? If you do, check the fluid level in the anti-lock reservoir. My Prelude did this revving thing twice, and while checking under the hood to see what the heck was going on, I discovered the brake fluid level was very low. I topped it off, and after giving up trying to figure what was wrong, I restarted the car, and no revving problem. I don't know why this is, but it worked for me twice. Countrycurt0
