Sony digital camera lens is not coming out fully to take photographs
Hi,
My Sony digital Camera Lens was not coming out and going in properly, but once it is outside I was able to take photographs.
After that I gave to one servicing centre for lens alignment and after that now I am not able to take photographs. Problem is that the lens is not coming out fully. After few seconds it is giving message to shutdown and start again. Same problem is coming in the next time as well.
Can the lens be out side permantly for ever and will I be able to take photographs?
We buy a large volume of camera for use at job sites, and I now have a drawer full of Sony cameras where the telescoping mechanism no longer works - otherwise the camera is fine. The is happening across all lines of the DSC cameras, so it seems like a design or manufacturing flaw to me.We buy a large volume of camera for use at job sites, and I now have a drawer full of Sony cameras where the telescoping mechanism no longer works - otherwise the camera is fine. I have the same problem with my camera. When you turn it on, it tells you to turn on and off again but nothing happens. I can't take any picture, the lens is out and will not go in again. Hi Susan,
If you cannot find the power button, just simply remove the battery wait for few seconds and put the battery back. What I assume of this behavior is 'If the coming out lens is obstructed by anything' the camera will show such error. If it does again, I would suggest calling Sony and getting their advice. Regards
Could be one of the ribbon cables is loose. If you can open the camera and reseat all the ribbon cables. If the lens makes an ugly grinding noise the gears to the lens are chewed up. You can go to esupport.sony.com for a flat rate repair quote. Hope this helps.
Hi there some how your camera lens is pressed heard from outside. Thats why the lens guide pin is damaged or dislocked & thats why its not came out fully. Even if you follow then you will get a bad noise from inside in the camera. So i suggest you repair the guide pin or replaced it. Thanks. Example of guide pin below:
Hi! If you're sure you didn't damage the lens flat cable which connect to the motherboard, the focus of the lens unit you bought on ebay doesn't work. You can simply replace the back part (with focus) of the new lens unit with your old one. It requires soldering.
