The most likely cause is that the keyboard needs a new battery in it, inserted on the underside. After that it may be that the small keyboard comms dongle in a USB port is not making proper contact. Pull that out and insert it a few times.

Thank you so much for your answer Geoff. The first keyboard I mentioned is the one that comes up on the touch screen and programmed in I think. The second one is the separate blue tooth connection one. That one may well need a new battery but I did manage to connect to it from my laptop although I wasn't sure how to test it. The blue tooth one isn't being recognized by the tablet at all. I have tried the holding down the on button and volume+ button to try and get into the settings and reset. But it just opens up the screen saver (Windows 10) and then asks for log in details.

OK then it sounds more like a missing Android driver for the keyboard

Thank you Geoff for your help. I guess I have to accept it is trashed as there is no way of restoring it now.

Have a Samung tablet with password setting that cannot be typed out cause my Samsung keyboard isn't responding. What to do?

Sorry to read/hear this.

Maybe you can try connect a USB mouse to your tab and see if this recognized.

From there on, you can use the USB mouse to enter the pass word with the aid of the displayed keyboard on your Tab's screen.

Hope this helps

Touch screen does not respond; have done hard reset to original but no results. cannot get to respond, cannot get to settings to turn on blue tooth for keyboard.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer for support. It sounds like there is a possible hardware problem.

You may find this page I found on general fixes of help, but I would avoid the last suggestion, if your device is still in warranty. I would think contacting the manufacturer would be a better option, to potentially doing more damage.

What type bluetooth do i need to use with a kindle fire hd

Make sure the keyboard is really blue tooth. Most are not. Look on the underside of the keyboard to see if the usb dongle is hiding there much like wireless mouse's have.

When Im going to connect my external keyboard to the thinkpad tablet 2, it ask me for the password. A password that have never been provided.... Anyone who know how to proceed

I had the same issue, and i resolved it by:

1. Typing the code '0000' + Enter on the tablet screen, making the tablet check
2. Hitting the same code '0000' (and maybe Enter, don't remember) on the keyboard right after.

..then the tablet paired the keyboard correctly. Good luck!
