Question about Motorola Radio Communications

1 Answer

I have this pair of Motorola TLKR T3, both in normal mode: I speak on 1 and hear on 2, I speak on 2 and I cannot hear on 1.

If I switch one of them to Monitor mode the one with noise, both work. The annoying thing is that on one of them you hear the noise. Also both of them work in Monitor mode. I have the original manual but I could not find any setting. I also saw some other posts which could not help me. I saw suggestions of some settings to be done but they were not clear on what steps to follow. I also saw suggestions on some filters to change but again no clear instructions.

Check your batteries and clean your battery contacts with a pencil eraser. Transmit is the first thing to go when you have a low, bad or poorly connected battery. It would make a radio appear not to transmit to the other unit. Trade batteries between the units and see if the problem moves to the other radio, this would let you know if it is simply a battery problem.
Secondly, check your mic opening on radio two and make certain it is not covered or has debris in the hole.
You mention you have the manual, I will attach a link to the manual for others reading this post who may not have it.
When looking at the manual it appears using monitor mode checks for a weak signal. If this is the only way your radios will work together you could have one of the following problems:
1. Bad battery
2. Too far apart
3. Not on the same channel as one another
4. A radio with an internal problem

SOURCE: One of my tlkr-t3 walkie talkie's will not recieve.

One of my tlkr-t3 walkie talkie's will not recieve.

They worked fine the first time we tried them out. Then they were put away for several weeks, and when they've been switched on, one now doesn't send. I checked this by the other putting in scan mode but it doesn't stop scanning at the channel it is assumed to send with. I tried all the channels for sending but neither one is detected. The other way around, so the first one in scanning mode, the 2nd in send mode, works fine (the scanning stops at the channel of the sending one, as expected).
So my conclusion is, that one doesn't send.
I interchanged the (fresh) batteries, but this doesn;t change.
So what could be the problem?

SOURCE: motorola tlkr t3 both units power up ok they are

Your PL or DPL is not set correctly.

Check your owners manual, you can set this with the user buttons on the radio.
Press and hold the PTT button while turning the radio on. this will put the radio in the programing mode.
Be careful, if you do not know how to set the PL DPL or frequency you could make the problem worse.

When switching on the monitor v7 it makes a eletrical arcing noise bottom right corner. has to be switch on/off around 12 times for the screen to light up regards Tony

sales669, You or a qualified electronics technician will need to open unit for inspection and repair. Do not use unit if you smell ozone and continue to hear noise!!!! Any one or a combination of things can be causing your symptom. Do you have any possibility of doing warranty service, or is unit to old? In fact if it were me, I would disconnect it and use a spare unit until v7 lcd is repaired. Read more of my fixya profile to see if something fits your BLACK SCREEN problem. I would guess that your power supply inside of monitor needs some work done! 12fixlouie

Plazma TV buzzing noise

I have the same problem I can hear buzzing over the volume of the tv into the 30 range. I've had a tech out 3 times and he's coming out for a fourth. He's changed to power supplies and is bringing the 3rd next visit. From what I've read it has either to do with power supplies or grounding strips.
