My F80 will not print black. The black tank is nearly full and I've cleaned and whatever several times to no avail. It is the same when I try to copy something in b&W.

My Canon S600 has no longer prints the colours nor black - even the nozzle check does not print. The printer goes through the motions, but the page is always blank. All ink tanks have ink in them. I...

I use to have a Canon with the same issue as yours. Do you refill your own ink tanks? If so, that is the problem because they leak inherently after awhile. If they leak then your print head is probably clogged. Was this a gradual problem or did it occur all at once? That will make a difference in troubleshooting your problem. Another issue with Canon printers is that you have to use them often of the print heads will clog up after a period of time. Take a look at this video as well. It may help you!

Waste ink near full message??

The replacement of the waste tank requires the disassembly of the printer and the replacement of the tank with a replacement kit. Typically the kit will cost around $25 and the labor at a service dealer about $75. Get a couple of quotes before taking the printer in. Your other option is to go to a newer printer since you can find one for about the same price as repairing your current one.

Canon MX850. Print blank after ink changes. The black ink, PGBK-5, ran out so I replaced it with a cheap generic ink tank. But it didn't work, nothing print, not even color copy. I thought the ink is bad...

That is a common problem on all Canon printers, the purge assembly on the right where the printhead parks, has a pump inside and hoses that go to the filters and ink absorbers. When that unit goes out you need a replacement. A job best done in a shop. When the printhead is not cleaned and primed properly you get blank pages no matter how full the inks are.

My 9 year old Canon Multipass F80. is giving me an alarm "waste ink near full". How do I empty that? I have no clue please help. I lost the manual two moves back.

1) Enter SERVICE MODE.---
By pressing Menu-Copy-#
2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR].
5) Select 0. [INK COUNT].
6) Press the [OK] key.
7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key.

the waste ink tank is the spongy surface under the nozzles when the printer is in the online waiting state, remove this pad and clean it once you have reset the counter or you will soon find leaks of ink!

Message "wasted ink tank near full" on Canon Multipass F80

Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer indicates a "waste ink tank full" error.

Replacing the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service facility can take care of for you. Once they are replaced, it'll be functional again.

I have a canon multi pass f80 printer. it is several years old (10?) i love it and have had NO problems. last night i went to print and my black ink has a new cartridge and there is no ink coming out...i...

First you need to ensure that this is not a driver problem, by reinstalling drivers and testing the printer on a different computer.

Also ensure that ink cartridges are OK, try replacement inks.

If the problem is not a software problem, and the printer is recognised by computer, and the printout is coming as a blank or faded page, then you usually have a faulty or clogged printhead.

Try first performing print head cleaning procedure from printer tools, that may not fix the problem, but do the cleaning a couple of times, just in case.

If the print head is clogged, that can be fixed soaking the print head in isopropyl alcohol overnight.

If still no luck, then the printhead must be replaced, here is the part: Canon MULTI-PASS F-80 Print Head $61.00

My Canon MP830 suddenly refuses to print black. The tanks are apparently full or nearly so, and I have used deep cleaning utility several times to no avail. It refuses to print at all. This happened all at...

drivers...can really get corrupted for no reason, or a good reason(power glitches)..so..reload the drivers/print management software, remove the printer from the panel, unplug it from the computer, then reverse that. Should 'see' it, and you may be back in business soon.
