How do you put a monitor into power save?

NEC MultiSync FE700 17" CRT Monitor - never sleeps to save power or monitor from burning out.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Does it not even go to sleep when your computer is shut down? I don't mean that the computer is asleep, but completely powered off.

And does the monitor go to sleep if you disconnect it from the computer?

Depending on your operating system go to Control Panel of Windows and find the Power Options section.
There should be a setting there to change how long to waite before the monitor sleeps.

This is an older monitor that night be getting screen burn. You can get a new one for sale used or a new one pretty darn cheap.

My monitors light is blinking all the time n no pic Nec Multisync FP1355

there is a setting you can access from the monitor menu button. make sure that the monitor is set for the cable you have running to it.

If you are using DVI use the digital setting.

Anything else, use the analogue.

NEC MultiSync FE2111SB 22in monitor problem

a blinking green light usually indicates no video signal. check your cables, and if you have another computer, try it on that. otherwise, carefully check your vga signal cable, and the connections on the neck board [where the crt plugs into]

Nec 700 crt

Not a solution at all, but I'll post that I have a NEC MultiSync FE700 monitor that I purchased back in 2001, and have I been using the monitor since that time. Lately the monitor has been showing signs of 'acting up'. I read on the Internet that CRT monitors generally have a working life of about six years. It may be, depending on years of use, that the monitors are just reaching the end of their life.

NEC P1250+ hisses and scrren blips intermittently

I had the same problem. Your monitor is warning you of failure. The hissing sound is the picture tube powering up. The momentary blank screen is when the power supply for the monitor has become hot. Your monitor is getting ready to quit. My suggestion is to buy a new monitor. To have a tech repair it would be more expensive then buying a new one.
