My TV's backlight isn't functioning correctly how can i fix it?

When i turn it on the back light flickers from the bottom to the middle of the screen back and forth, then stops for a while. The backlight remains brighter on the bottom of the screen and very dim at the top especially the left top corner. The bottom has a bar of brightness which as i said flickers occasionally from bottom to middle rapidly but the left top corner remains very dark at all times.

SOURCE: unlock apex tv model # AT2702

  • If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the (function or F) button and the mute button at the same time. This will unlock the screen and allow you to view the channel as desired.

  • If your TV asks for a 4-digit code or password please enter 3308 or 6688 to unlock the screen or reset any preset rating levels.

  • If you have a GT2011J or GT2011S Television, hold the (Display) button for 10 seconds, it will unlock the screen. If password or code is requested, try 3308 or 6688.
Hope that helps..........

SOURCE: Help! Turned on our tv and all there is a blue

Somebody put a lock on it. LOL There is several keys you can press together in all TV to go into service mode, I don't remember the one for that particular model. See if you can find it on the internet. Look at one of those television case history site. Some are free. Be carefull you don't adjust anything once in the service mode!! That is actually used by technicians only. A consumer would not have a clue what they are adjusting.

It could be the LCD and the back light has now stopped working and should be replaced. It wold be cheaper to buy a new TV than to try and repair the TV that does not work anymore that you have.

My Magnavox TV give sound but no picture. When I turn it on the light in the bottom right hand screen goes green, then flashes to yellow and goes back to green. The screen does not change it is constantly...

You need to replace your backlight inverter.

Check that all voltages are coming from the power supply as they should. The power supply will be stamped with the correct amounts, and you just read with the multimeter to confirm.

After those check out ok, you will need to replace the inverter to "light" your screen again.

You can hear sound because the tv is ON, but the inverter isn't lighting the screen!

Hope this helps, please rate!

Tv comes on for a few minutes then goes off

If you take off the front bottom panel of the tv wich is easy. Then you will see 6 tuning knobs at the bottom middle of the tv .the top 6 control contrast for the lights dont mess with those. the bottom 3 are the power to each light.red is bottom left if your screen went blue it makes sense that the red is starting to go but if you turn down the power to it left 1/8 turn it should fix it for awhile .Its easy.
