Sounds like the motor is stuck or froze. If possible, unplug it and try turning it back and forth by hand.

What causes a fuse to blow

I would suspect either you have a short somewhere or your circuit breaker may need replacing. Talk to a well company for possibilities.

Water pump for 4" well blowing fuses

Make sure you are using correct size fuse. If you are and there are no problems with the wiring to the pump. It has failed and needs to be pulled and replaced.

One check you can do is measure the resistance between the leads going down to the pump. Should be low resistance BUT NOT ZERO. I'll say anything over 2 but less than 15 ohms is good. If any two leads reads zero, it is a bad motor on the pump. If any two read infinity, the wire is broken or it is a bad motor on the pump.

SAFETY FIRST!!! Make sure you turn the power off before doing any resistance checks and you must disconnect two of the three wires before checking (if only two wires, just one).

Sounds like there is an impeller problem. A 1hp emerson should be fine. Take it apart and recheck impeller and diffuser. I am assuming they gave you a new seal to replace with the motor.

depending on the motors style of start-up, if you have a centrifugal type of start winding switch, your motor may be trying to start on the run winding due to a defective contact on the centrifugal switch, if it is a capacitor type starer, you might have a defective capacitor once again the motor is trying to start on the run winding, a way to find out is to be there and listen to the motor when it tries to start and trips the barker, if the motor emits a loud humming noise you have a fault with the start-up winding control device, if the picture supplied with your post is correct the capacitor is the long cylindrical thing at the top of the motor, you can remove this and bring it to a motor shop, they can test this for you

Try to relocate the position of the pump where it would be protected from water splashes. The pump motor casing might not be designed for outdoor use or not desirable for water splashes. You may also replace your pump with units designed for this purpose (pump with motor casing rating of IP 65 or IP 55).

Stalled... won't grind... makes no sound... it is 5 years old...

Hi
Remove bean hopper
Remove grounds hopper
Remove timer knob on the side
Turn the grinder upside down
There are 4 slits on the outside edge.
Insert a screw driver into the grove and pry gently outward with a
little downward pressure on the outside until the side slips a bit.
Repeat on all 4 slits and the shell should slide off.
There is a fuse on the side of the motor that will blow and stop the motor. It is a thermal fuse and should be replaced by a qualified tech.

Motor Stopped working

hi,
firstly check simple things like if the control panel makes a click when the pump button is pressed, then check the fuse in the control panel. If both of these are fine, have a look in the limpet attached to the side/top of the motor, this contains a capacitor and it is the most likely cause of the pump failure. These can easily be replaced, but must be replaced like for like for all values printed on it.
