Black 852 print cartridge inserted now is not intended for use in

I bought my printer from UK and went to Cartridge World in UK to buy a replacement black cartridge. Originally they were 338 but was given an 852 and told it would work. Now printer just says 'black 852 print cartridge inserted now is not intended for use in this printer'. Any advice?

Definitely take the printer, cartridge and all to the store and show them what is going on. They must make this right for you since they told you it would work. Be firm. Go prepared with paper and pen to write down the name of the person helping you. If you do not get satisfaction, ask to speak to the supervisor.

Does the canon pixma ip1200 need both the black and the colour cartridges in to print ?

You need both cartridges. It is a paradox that you need both cartridges to even scan on the mfp,s

I have a 1610 series printer/scanner and my black cartridge needed replacing. I have bought 2 cartridges--I from HP and 1 from Currys (a replacement for the 338 cartridge) but both give me a error message...

Hi Hp 49 is available in the UK I just looked it up on www.amazon.co.uk from about £10.00 for the small ink one and about 20 for the bigger ink capacity.
I repair printers for a living and I have not heard that the 49 was out (that said I the first person to be told) Hope this helps Ian

HAD BLACK INK CARTRIDGE REFILLED AND REPLACED , PUT IT BACK INTO HP7550 PRINTER, NOW IT DOES NOT PRINT AT ALL DID NOT PRINT A CALIBARATION PAGE

You usually have to install a DIFFERENT cartridge at first to fool the printer into thinking you changed the cartridge then swap to the refilled one... Their feeble attempt at making sure you don't refill and use the same one.

Use of 852 and 855 cartridge in hp 6210 officejet printer

This quite often happens with CLONE cartridges and happens very infrequent with original cartridges.

The cause is the ink level chip used in clones is quite often a very cheap chinese copy and very prone to failure or misalignment

Either way take them back and get them changed is my advice

My hp deskjet 1280 will not print yellow

Hello, this is Harry from www.BusinessSpread.co.uk.
We had the exact same problem when printing, we used 3 different 78 colour ink cartages and they all said 100% full but did not work. We then had a look at the dates on the box and they were all expired so when buying ink from anywhere even PC world or Curry’s always look at the expiry date.
Today I went to PC world and purchased a new 78 ink which said expires July 2011 and it works perfectly fine.

Ink cartridge replacement

I had the same problem, and after scouring around online for a few days, I learned that this is one of the biggest gripes about this printer. Basically, you're out of luck unless you replace EVERYTHING, even though you only want to print black (nuts, isn't it?). So I went out and bought all new color cartridges, and it STILL won't print. I think it's just a bad printer all around. :(

Tri Colour cartridge inserted is not intended for use in this printer msg

Try to clean the print cartridge contact points with a good rubber eraser and clean the printer side cartridge contacts with good lint free cotton cloth. Then first insert Black cartridge and then colour cartridge. Use some more pressure while attaching the cartridges.

Refilling ink cartridges

hp74a.jpg HP #74 Cartridge Refill Instructions
Black cartridge

Instructions
1. Put the cartridge on some paper towels in an area where you can tolerate a spill.
2. Peal off the top label. hp74b.jpg
3. Fill the syringe with 20ml. of black ink.
4. Very S-L-O-W-L-Y inject ink into any hole (they all go to the same sponge, HP just used the same color mold for the black ink cartridges).
5. When finished, replace the top label or leave it off (it will make no difference in the printing).
6. Replace the cartridge and run 1 - 3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.
Or print the following pages:
http://www.refillinstructions.com/black.htm for Black

For best results, leave cartridge in printer for 8 hours after refilling so the ink can saturate the entire sponge.
A Refill Kit should include Ink plus the following:
One 30cc Syringe
