Monitor darkens significantly when viewing some

Samsung 2333SW monitor darkens significantly when viewing some web pages (one example is ''http://www.tamiya.com/''). If I change to a different page, everything is fine. If change back to problem page, monitor darkens again. Problems has happened with two or three different web pages, but I don't recall which ones they were other than the example already given. What is going on?

The monitor might be on 'dynamic contrast'. Press menu on the remote control and does it say that 'magic bright' is on dynamic contrast?
If so, change it to something else and this may solve your problem.

Most common failures in these LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply. C242 470uF 10V, C241 & C242 1000uF 16V, C261 & C319 680uF 35V failed, replace them at once.

The problem is in one of the inverter transformers, or one of the backlight behind the display is defective.

first of all we have to be sure the monitor is really working (it's murphy's law!) if this is 100% then might the resolution is set on snow leo too high? this can also cause the problem.

It sounds like the backlight may be going bad. Not much you can do, paying someone to install a new one will be as expensive as buying a new monitor.

Hi, I bought my samsung 2333 syncmaster in the U.S. but moved to New Zealand where the voltage is 230, can I use the monitor with a converter plug or with a NZ compatible cord?
Samsung 2333 have switching power supply and it can work from 100-240VAC 50/60Hz with out any modification or adaptors. Feel free to use it in USA or New Zealand. You need only to arrange plug converter.
