Julia, sorry to hear about your problem. If you can provide more info, it will be easier for us to help.

You said your bed is a Craftmatic twin bed, but do you know the model number of your bed, or at least when it was made? Does it use wired or wireless controls? If the bed or remote require batteries, have you tried replacing them? And finally, is the bed plugged directly into a wall outlet, or is it plugged into a surge suppressor, battery backup, or UPS device?

The link below to the Craftmatic web site takes you to the page where you can download manuals for their beds in case you don't have access to a manual. If you haven't already read through the troubleshooting section, doing so is a good start.

Depending on your answers to the above questions, I may have suggestions for specific steps to take to find out wherein your problem lies.

Best of Luck!

Can I bypass the remote control on my Craftmatic 1 Adjustable Bed, corded remote control?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from 'Televisions' category.

No of course not James. The remote contains switches, which operate relays which in turn activate forward and reverse in the electric motors. You need to replace it, if in fact the fault is with the remote, rather than the relays or the motors.

Contact the company direct.

My Craftmatic Adjustable bed does not stay upward after adjusting it (head or foot). It just slowly sinks back down.

Hi. Most likely a faulty switch in the hand piece. I had a hoist in for repair the other day doing a similar thing. The down switch was being pressed by the covering on the handpiece. You might be able to find someone in a local electronics store to look at it or buy a new hand piece. Try raising the bed and then unplugging the hand piece and see if the bed stays up. Good luck. Neil.
