Powers off by itself and says "problem"

My stereo receiver shuts down after being on for about 5 minutes. When it shuts down the panel has a message that says "problem" and then just zaps off. HELP!!!! I have the whole system -- LCD, stereo receiver, wireless speakers, etc and it's been nothing but headaches.

    This is model HT-X70

  • Anonymous Dec 05, 2007

It actually says "protection" and mine does the same thing... Haven't figured out why it does that... The samsung website says it's a power protection and something shorting the wires out, however, I looked and tested all the wires... Any further help on this problem would be appreciated... I have the same model ht-x70

I opened my theater system; the same as above and in front of the fan i found a ball of aluminum foil burned up. i took it off and the problem has not happened yet. before, it only took 5 minutes to shut off, it has been 2 hours and is still on. i hope that this works for you. good luck.

It can go for hours without interuption, and one ime i noticed that the display said "check fan" and then protection and goodbye. I decided to take look and opened it up. The fan is covered by an aluminum shroud, after i removed the shroud i noticed that one of the sound filtering caps were blown. I couldnt find the ratings on the cap, but am researching.

This message is supposed to indicate that you have wires crossed at some point. Maybe the speaker wires are touching? I have a similar issue, however my receiver does not say Protection - it just says Goodbye. Samsung support says that this is an issue with the box and likely needs to be replaced.

Check all of your speaker wires, and call the Samsung support 800 number. They are pretty good.

I turn the unit on and it works for about a minute then powers down. The red light stays on. If I hit power button again it works but for less than a minute and it powers down again. Any suggestions?

try to check speaker wiring connection for possible short ckt. also check speaker itself, this amplifier have protection ckt that make unit off soon as short ckt detected.

RCA D52W20 TV powers on fine, then shuts itself off after 5 - 10 minutes. After 20-30 minutes, I can turn tv back on, but then shuts off again in 5 minutes.

it looks like the problem is in the 16v line..try to take it apart..and there's gonna be a 2200mf cap leaky.
that will solve your problem.

2003 Chevy s 10. The fuse marked cruise control module, body control module, heated seats (it doesn't have heated seats) keeps blowing. It can happen 1 minute down the road or 10 minutes. The odd thing is...

The fuse in question also powers the instrument panel cluster ,also goes to SP200 -splice pack 200 where it powers BCM , CCM,multifunction switch - turn sig. headlamp dimmer switch and the WSW .Also if you have utility vehicle without memory seats it powers the front seats lumbar switch . Do you know how to check circuit's for a short ? Locate SP200 Splice Pack SP200
(CKT 41, CKT 241, CKT 341, CKT 817) Strapped to the body harness, under carpet in the RH dash area about 30cm (12 in) from the right kick panel .Do you know what a splice pack look's like ?

gm splice pack-5vwjdo4vj5u5qn0cs4zh2oxv-4-5.gif Disconnect circuit's one at a time till the fuse doesn't blow , then you found the problem circuit or componet . Disconnecting the BCM will cause the vehicle not to start an run . Anti-theft system . You mite try having the BCM checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes

Unit powers itself down

does it do this when on battery mode?
or when its plugged in?
i found they do tend to drain quicker the older it gets and that just because of a week internal battery.. i just leave mine plugged in to the cig lighter in my car and i dont have that problem but if you have to use battery power it will drain fast no real fix unless you get a new internal battery and its much easier to just leave it plugged in.

AMP GUARD ON

I'd say go back to the guy who installed and get him to do it right. He's either left some wires exposed so they are intermittently touching, or has an open connection to one of the speakers. The amp will shut down to protect itself. He may also not have wired the speakers correctly. Some systems don't work unless both hot and ground wires run directly to each speaker. Some installers run only a hot line and use the car body for ground. At higher powers this can cause amp shutdown or keep it from working at all. In any case the installation wasn't done correctly.

ACER Aspire 5100 powers down at will

When you turn the laptop on hit f8 until the menu comes up, try use the last good known configuration. If that does not work tap f8 goto safe mode and then to system restore and restore it to an earlier time. Let me know if it works.

Kenwood KDC-MP825 car stereo problem

My wife experienced the same problem this month, December 2008, after owning the KDC-MP825 for 3.5 years (what's up with that?). It would power on briefly, the panel would move, then after 2 seconds it would shut down. After 15 seconds, it would power again, panel motors whir, then shut down. It would keep doing that while the key is in ignition.

This appeared to have solved the problem:
Hold down BUTTON [5], press the RESET button (you'll need a ballpen to press between the AUTO and SCRL button).

This was the procedure for getting the receiver out of demonstration mode. Maybe the cold weather here in New Jersey placed the unit into demo mode?

Yamaha Receiver RX-V630 not working (resets itself immediately)

This maybe an easy one. Have you unhooked all the wires going in to the stereo. "SP wires" means you have wires to the speakers are touching and the stereo is shutting down to avoid overloading. Hope this helps...
