CNETI'm experiencing thin black lines from the top of the screen to the bottom. ... by babes808gpa / January 15, 2010 1:42 AM PST ... lines are about 1/4 inch apart from top to bottom of screen. starts on the right and about a 1/3 of the way toward the ...have the exact same problem, my lcd tv has multiple lines are horizontal it ...
The most common cause for the loss of picture is a bad Horizontal Output Transistor
(HOT). but I would suggest you get a detailed
estimate. I think that this would cost you about $60.
The horizontal lines means the vertical amplifier or deflection system
has failed. There are over 100 components in this section and any one
of them, or most of them can be at fault. However, the most common
failure is the VOT or vertical output transistor (which is often buried
inside a chip).
The repair will cost around $250 plus or minus.
FEW TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS YOU CAN TRY:
ONE: Do a hard reset (just to make sure there is nothing in the coding
that is fowling things up). Unplug the power cord; leave it disconnected
for 4 hours. That will restore everything to factory defaults when you
power it back up.
TWO: Do the "whacking test" by banging your fist on a few strategic
places to see if there are any cold solder joints or loose wires acting
up inside the set.
If the above steps don't solve ur problem then I suggest you to go for a repair..
Can you please change the input device to some other you know, works? If you do not notice any problem there, look for the aerial cable going close to any power line or has interference from some other transmissions of any kind nearby.
Your tv horizontal section is faulty change the horizontal transistor.or the diode that is at the leg of the collector of the HOT.do other checks around the transistor cause it can be more than one component is faulty in that section.also make checks in the power there is a diode that feeds from the pout put of tv regulator that might be leaking or is open.
Set starts, horizontal and vertical deflection work, HT ok, crt heaters ok, but no sound or picture
I turned the G2 voltage up and noticed a white screen with flyback
lines, frame ok. I detected two badly soldered double diode rectifiers
in the secondary part of the power supply ! I checked all other joints,
and everything was ok !! success
White horizontal line (no vertical deflection)
Check / replace R548, R549
Sound but no picture except for a couple of horizontal colour lines
Replaced the frame chip TDA8356, set now ok
this symptom, sometimes called the tube light effect, it is characterised by a bright thin horizontal line across the middle of the screen. this symptom is caused by a breakdown in the vertical deflection circuit. hence maybe the trouble maybe in the vertical oscillator, amplifier or output circuits. but if all i have said is not clear to you, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck!
