I need a flat beater for a K4-B kitchenaid mixer, probably 40 plus years old but works great. do you have one?

Have you contacted Kitchen Aid service department and asked if another flat beater from a current model will fit?

Kitchen aid model kg25. vibrates and beater hits bottom of bowl

Your worm gear is no longer seated and that is more than likely because the housing cover is probably the old style plastic and it has cracked which allows the worm gear to jump up during operation and turn out of sync. The worm gear turns the drive gear that works the planetary gears which in turn drives the beater. If the worm gear is not turning true then of course it is pushing the planetary out of true as it turns, which causes the beater to slam the sides of the bowl. The question is this...does the beater hit the bowl in the same place on the bowl every time? Or does the beater hit the bowl in different places every time? If it hits the same place then it is probably just a planetary gear of which there are four gears involved and it could be any one of them. It it hits a different place every time it is most likely the worm gear and cover. In either case parts will cost between 30 and 50 dollars. and it takes about an hour to fix.

I accidentally touched the beaters of my Oster food center mixer with a rubber spatula, & beaters jammed. No apparent damage to beaters, but at high speed the beaters now knock each other & I think one of...

Generally the problem is only the beaters. They may no longer be aligned in a perpendicular line and are slightly bent, just enough to make them click. You may have to replace the beaters to get satisfaction.

I need replacement beaters for an old GE hand mixer.

I bought an old GM mixer no. 30M47 with no beaters yesterday at the Salvation Army store. The beaters I have for a newish (ugly) GE hand held beater fit perfectly. I suggest taking your old beater to a store that sells new GE handheld beaters and seeing if the new beaters fit. If anyone reads this and wants me to look up the number of the new ugly beater for them, please say so before I take it to the Salvation Army.. : )

Peeled beater and hook

Stan. If you were to keep these attachments soaking in alcohol (rubbing) between uses, I'd say yes, however this would probably make more coating flake off. This coating goes into the food you're mixing. Bacteria will remain between the metal part of the attachment and the plastic coating, where you can't scrub it off.

Replace them. Try to find all metal ones. While you're at it, throw out all cracked plates and coffee mugs too, as these cracks harbour bacteria that will survive normal dishwashing. If you are ever in a restaurant and are served food on a cracked plate refuse it and tell them not to just scrape the food onto another plate.

I spent 13 years in the restaurant business, anytime we came across a cracked plate cup or mug, into the trash it went. food and all. Dont take chances with your health. If you found this solution helpfull, please rate it Good luck. ricardok45
