Sounds like a computer component may be malfunctioning. Probably needs service.

My Pfaff 1222-E Sewing Machine seems to have frozen up, what can be wrong. It is Old purchased in 1976

It probably is frozen due to lack of regular cleaning and oiling. The old oil turns to glue preventing the parts from moving like they should.

I have a Bernina Record 830 that was stored in attic a few years. The dual knobs above the Buttonhole knob seems to be frozen and will not turn independently. One function of the knobs is for width.

Try putting a light spray or drop of machine oil and leave a good while even over night and then try to turn it .itmay need a good tight turn just to free it once it get that first click to turn the rest is easy if the machine had been lying for quite a while my advice is get it serviced .

THe wheel is frozen

Check that there are no threads tangled in the bobbin area.

Most likely it has seized from dried oil. If it is a seizure, do NOT attempt to run the motor until the machine has been loosened. Continued use could damage the motor.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

Have a Kenmore 1357. Was working perfectly until I began sewing satin ruffle onto fleece. Seems to siege. Needle won't even try to go into material. Just goes to top of presser foot and stops.

Is it a mechanical machine (not computerized)? Did you oil the internal metal parts that rub against other metal parts? With an older mechanical machine, frequently the old oil turns to goo and sticks things rather than lubricates. Use only fresh good quality sewing machine oil. Hand rotate the wheel and place 2 drops of oil every place metal rubs metal (including the bobbin area). To help loosen things, direct hot air from a handheld hairdryer into the interior of the machine.

This process was used on an older Kenmore that had totally frozen, but it was working again within 15 minutes.

HOW TO FIX SINGER SEWING MACHINE MODEL 223; GREASE WAS USED AND MACHINE IS FROZEN THOUGH MOTOR SEEMS TO BE RUNNING OK

Make sure no thread is caught in shuttle, or around bobbin case, etc. Check "plate teeth" also. Manually turn handle/wheel to engage and slow press pedal.

Is there a burning smell of rubber? Bad motor. Check warranty.

My Designer 1 sewing machine touch screen is frozen and won't calibrate or respond to touching. This is intermittent behavior. Sometimes it works, and sometimes not. Can you tell me what this is

Sounds to me like the plug-in connector from the screen is not firmly attached to the motherboard (directly behind the screen but inside the machine). This kind of problem doesn't take a factory trained technician. Ask various sewing machine dealers to whom they subcontract cleaning and adjustment. Ask people who sew whether they have the name of a repair person. Taking apart the machine and replugging the connection should be all of a 15 minute job.

Husqvarna Des 1.. won't recognize hoops

The embroidery unit needs to be calibrated. Can only been done by a trained dealer. you can relax, it is not a major issue and shuold not cost you a arm and a leg. Ask the dealer to also calibrate your touch screen and download the working hours on your machine.
