2003 eddie baur ford expedition hood is stuck shut and the latch is stuck

If the cable is not broken you might be able to pull it with some pliers from inside the vehicle. You should have someone push down on the hood directly over where the latch is at the same time you're pulling on the release handle or the cable itself. I'd also try to come from under the front of the vehicle by hand up through or around the bumper and radiator and core support in the space below where the latch is located. Reach up to the latch itself, if you can, and release it with a screw driver, needle nose pliers, or whatever it requires. You will know where to grab or pry to open the hood because it's where the other end of the hood release cable is connected.

How to open the hood when the hood release is not working.

Pull the release and have someone hit the hood with there hand in the middle of the hood, by the latch/front. Then adjust the latch upwards. If the cable is broke then go from the bottom and push the release left or right to release. Follow the cable.

Replace the bonnet latch

how to?
open hood(bonnet) and remove the latch (screws)
replace it
the adjust it . per FSM book.
if you cant open it , that is a problem. so, if the latch is cable driven
most cars we can pull side of cable (look all places for it)
do this
person one tries to lift hood
person 2 tries to pull cable.
person 3 pulls cab handle, POP!
ok its not cable driven its electric
hot wire the solenoid. find the wire to it and hot wire it.
we have to Australia cars here so our alldata.com is of no help.

I have a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo the hood will not open. I had someone pull the latch while I hit the top of the hood to pop, nothing. I have also had someone pull the latch while I pull up on the hood and...

Don't pull up on the front, but press down hard, while someone pulls on the handle.

Try whacking it some more there, too, while latch is being pulled. Another place to hit is at rear of hood on driver's side.
If it still won't open, you may have to get your hand on the hood latch to move the lever that the handle cable attaches to. The lever would have to move towards the driver's side to pop the latch. Sometimes a long screwdriver poked up from underneath may reach the latch. Or you may be able to get your hand in past the grill, or remove the grill to get your hand to the latch.
When you do get it open, put a few drops of oil on the latch mechanism, and see if any adjustments can be made to open it easier either on the hood itself, or the latch mechanism. Just about all cars have a way to adjust the latch.
Good luck.

My hood will not pop up when i pull release the cable. I can't get the hood open. Any ideas?

If it feels like the cable is attached when you pull the hood release try having someone push down on the front of the hood near the latch. Once the release is pulled out have the person relieve pressure from the hood once you let go of the release. This works for most stuck hood situations. If that doesn't work try having some one pull up on the hood while the release is pulled. This works when the spring has weakened. Once the hood is opened clean and lubricate the latch assembly to prevent further trouble.

'99 Honda civic LX. The hood latch requires a lot of force to ope

What you should do is spray the latch with pb blaster,556,or wd40.Shut the hood and after a couple of times it should work better also do a visual inspection of the latch and make sure nothing is bent.
