Same issue I am having the same problem with my camera's lens. How do we fix the internal lens?

The two technical terms applying to this issue are 'Damaged' or 'Broken'. Fortunately, there are also two solutions - Repair or Replace. Probable cause is something internal jamming the lens extension gearing.

this is a classic, problem with the compact camera. its probably that have make a pressure on the opened lens or the camera is dropped.
the lens bloc have internaly whery little gears. if the camera have a pressure this gear are damaged.
you can prove to find the lens bloc on a ebay international seller. in usa wit the exact model it s easy to find the entire lens bloc.
the problem is that you dont have any knowledge of eletronic, and camera disassemblement.
but you can find a help to fix the camera alone on german you tube. search with the voice." obiektiv umtausch " and make you a idea if you are able to fix your camera alone.
but to first you make a countage if the camera value is enough to spend money. one complet lens bloc to one international seller goes from. 20 to 35 euro . if you fix it alone this is the price. but this is not a easy job. if you was here in italy i make this job with a cheap price but you are to far from here

this is a pressur on the camera problem. or the camera have received a pressur ore are dropped. in this case you must change the lens bloc. you can find the lens bloc on ebay to international sellers. in usa ebay seller its very probably that you find or the new lens bloc or a used. the price goes from 20 to 35 euro. to one entire lens bloc. the fixing i complicad. you must disassemble the camera and change the lens. if you want prove to fix it alone you can find a little help on german you tube. open you tube and write
obiektiv umtausch. so you can see if you are able to make this fixing. but i want say to you that the camera parts are very delicat. dont look the professionist..for him is all so easy.. for you that is not so easy. the camera are all different. the internal contact flats in any model are different, and have on the connection very very little arrest of the flats. if you brocke one of this arrest, you can keep the camera and the lens in the trusch. i am sorry that you are so far from here i make this fixage in italy with 50 euro

This is a known issue with many of the Fuji cameras caused by dust and dirt that get in through the loosely mounted lens mechanism, there are really only three solutions.

1. If under warranty you can send the camera in for repair.
2. Saturate around the lens with WD40 and wiggle the lens until it becomes responsive again every month or so.
   
3. Dismantle the camera and clean out and lubricate around the internal gear-box and lens components about once a year.This is a pretty intensive process.
   

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the body and lens where they meet with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol?

Sony has discovered that some DSC-T20 Cyber-shot cameras sold in the United States may experience an issue with abnormal internal vibration and an inability to properly focus and take pictures.

For cameras affected by this issue, Sony will provide free repair until July-17-2011. In certain units, the lens cannot adjust properly due to a mechanical failure in the lens mechanism. When the automatic features of the camera attempt to adjust the lens, the camera body vibrates, preventing it from properly focusing or taking pictures.

During the free repair period, Sony will provide customers in the United States a prepaid shipping label so that you may send your affected DSC-T20 camera to the Sony Service Center for free repair.

Sounds like its damaged, if the zooming is stuck. It might have fallen causing internal parts to damage.
I strongly recommend contacting Nikon service for this kind of repairs, because its far too easy to trouble the glass if you open it. I mean even if you manage to fix the issue many things can go wrong inside and the lens wont be come out clean. Better to leave it to professionals here.

This may sound kind of obvious, but have you cleaned the lens?

It's common to get finger prints or other marks on lenses, which result in blurred pics.

Hello, there is a problem with the optical unit (lens). Normaly when the camera is in camera mode the lens should go out. In your case it seems that for some reason the lens is stuck. Please contact your nearest Sony dealer. If you want to repair the camera yourself please tell me. I can send some additional info as well. Regards, Arpi
