Its possible that its giving 64 MB of RAM to your video card to change that you must boot your computer in BIOS and there should be an option to devote additional RAM to your video card.

If this did not solve your problem, please leave a comment and I will assist you further.

Dude!

It seems that video card on the computer is consuming the rest of 64 MB memory.

Get into the CMOS of the computer and reduce the video card memory.

Hope, it helps.

Is there a way the memory in a toshiba satellite 1005-s157 be increased to more than 512MB?

Yes you can, at least to 1 Gb maybe possibly to 2 Gb.
There will be two memory slots in your laptop. To increase the RAM to 1 Gb install another 512 Mb RAM module in the empty 2nd memory slot. Make sure you use the same make and speed RAM as the one that is installed.
If you have two 256 Mb RAM modules installed in your laptop then you need to replace the two 256 Mb RAM modules with two 512 Mb RAM modules to get a total of 1 Gb RAM.

Increase graphics from 96 to 128

If you have insralled the correct video driver and you cannot increase the VIDEO RAM then it is not possible to increase the bit color from 96 bit to 126 or 256 bit color.
The only way to have a higher bit color is to install a new graphics card that supports up to 256 bit color (this video card will have large cideo RAM).

It's always recommended to increase the size of paging file by 1.5 times the size of RAM.What will happen if i increase the size of paging file to say 4 times the size of my actual RAM, will it effect the...

The size of the pagin file should be twice the RAM. Increasing it won't bring you any additional total performance, however there is a slight chance it will barely decrease it. Specifically CPU, it won't change anything in your CPU performance.

My system has a ddr 256 MB but it shows 192 mb only. what is the reason and solution plz

Hi,

Your graphics card is sharing your system memory.

This means that you physically have 256 MB of Ram in you laptop, but the operating system can only use 192 MB of Ram because 64MB of Ram is dedicated to your on-board graphics.

Hope this answers your question!
Please remember to let me know if this information was useful!

Kind Regards

Upgrading my fujitsu amilo pro v2010

Hi Brian,
It's not a problem as u think..
Yes your Ram is 256 M.B // but your Vga Card is built in the mother board with 64 M.B ..so it's share the Vga card Memory from ur basic ram (64 - 256 = 190~192 M.B) .
So u just need to increase ur rams by new one or replace this ur current ram by 2g.byte ram .

best luck.
