If the refrigerator section is not cool enough and it is a one compressor unit, it is because the self defrosting mechanism is not working; consequently the ice built up in freezer keeps freezer temps high with a corresponding lack of adequate cooling in the fridge section. If so, check for defrost element continuity, defrost timer, defrost thermostat, thermostat.
I presume it is a combined fridge/freezer. the reason for this is probably because it uses 2 compressors one for the fridge and one for the freezer. sounds like the fridge has lost its gas or the thermostat has packed in. turn the thermostat up and see if you can hear the compressor start up. if not then you will have to either replace the fridge freezer or get a repair person out to look at it.
