e73 is A USB command failure. Check to see if the scanner is connected to a USB 3 port. A USB 3 port can be identified by the port being Blue in color or have the letters "SS" (Super Speed) near the port. Kodak scanners behave strangely with USB 3. With the unit turned off, please connect the scanner to a USB 2.0 port. Additionally, download and install (as an administrator) the most current drivers from Kodak.com which alleviates 9 out of 10 issues.
Not surprised at that, don't know much about these units but from what i was able to find out they don't use a usb cable to load software they use a serial cable, and computer do not have a detection process for the serial cable, You need the cable as well as the software to load information up to or down from the unit. Quick check brought this to my attention and maybe something in here will help you.
most computers have lots of USB inputs. my frnt USB cords don't work on my MP3 but I plugged it into my back USB port and it work fine...Just try to use other USB ports
try downloading the newest version of the software from TOMTOM's website. Download and install it first allowing it to put the necessary drivers on the computer. the software will prompt you to connect the gps after the drivers have been loaded.
if this unit came from HSN (most did) then their specs show that it needs xp .. but their video claims it works for vista as well .. actually it depends on which model you have .. the FS-C1-VP . runs only on XP and below .. model FS-C1-Vp-BX2 .. has software to run on Vista and below .. Model FC-C520-VP-Bx2..runs on anything including vista and doesnt require software .. it just looks like a Mass Stroage Device when you plug it in .. these all look like a nice little machines for slides and negitives .. you might try unplugging the device .. reload the software (if you have any) ... then reattach the unit (to a different port) .. still problems then the USB port may be going into current limit .. you can try a different USB port (maybe one at the back of the computer) or better yet use a port expander with its own power supply .. make sure you dont have other USB devices that might be drawing current from the same USB source device (ok with the expander) .. if that doesnt get it going then if it came from HSN you can call their customer service number .. 800 933 2887 ... your item number would be 320-712 ... if the port expander or other suggestions fix it then let us know ..
it sounds like the unit is just drawing more current than your USB port can supply .. that happens a lot with large USB memory sticks (8gb or more) .. they are getting very close to or even exceeding the spec on the port .. some USB ports can do it others just shut down .. the external port expander with a power supply will almost always fix that problem and they dont cost much .. they are kind of nice also because you can put the expander ports within easy reach.
Make sure that the matching drivers for the operating system used are installed. Check if the webcam is connected on your PC's USB port. Also, try connecting the webcam on other USB ports on your PC. The problem is either on the USB port or the webcam unit itself. Please reply if this has helped you.
Com port referes to a serial port. It looks like a monitor port only smaller. Since yuo connect via USB, it may be that the locator software is set to use Serial port or Comm Prot. See if it can be changed to USB. Perhaps load the software before or after plugin in the unit, that may make a differernce.
The USB ports on this unit are non-functional unless you hack it. There are several methods of doing so, but the easiest is probably to purchase an upgrade kit from dvrupgrade.com. You can either purchase a replacement hard drive, or software to do it yourself.
After you do this, the USB ports can be used to connect a network device, and you can use different software programs to export and import programming. You will also have other features you normally wouldn't have on the stock unit. Good resources on this topic are tivocommunity.com and dealdatabase.com.
