SOURCE: I lost water pressure in my swimming pool line and

If your pump is blocked in any way (usually a closed valve), then the pump cannot keep water flowing. It could be starved of water if blocked on the suction side, or an air leak. On the return side, it's usually a ``dead head`` pipe, or a closed outlet valve. In either case, the pump can overheat and actually boil the water within it. In that case, the fittings attached to it can deform and cause bigger air leaks, which compounds the problem. If you replace the fittings, reconnect the pipe and remove any blockages, you should be fine.

SOURCE: in-g pool loss of pressure and bubbles from return line any ideas

If you notice bubbles in the water returning into the pool from the eyeball/discharge, or water in the strainer basket is visibly swirling (bubbles visible) odds are you need you replace the o-ring on the lid of the strainer basket in the front of the pump. This basket may also be clogged with debris, which also effect pressure. Could also be a cracked or warped strainer lid. Should be easy to see when you remove to check o-ring. Once you remove the strainer o-ring make sure you lube it with a good silcone based lube.

sounds like a seized bearing. they can be replaced at your local motor shop or pool store. now that its buzzing, i would also suggest getting the start capacitor replaced at the same time.

My hayward super pump keeps tripping my GFI. The trouble locates to my pump

It could be an overly sensitive GFCI. If you replace it first, because it is cheaper than a motor, then you can determine whether you need a new motor.

I hope this helps.

We will be replacing a Hayward 1.5 HP motor for our pool with 120 GPM filter. Should I replace with another 1.5 HP, or would it be better to repalce with a 2.0 HP motor? Any downside? Thank you -

Actually, a pool really does not require you to up size the motor. Most pools should be plumbed with a 3/4 HP or 1 HP pool pump (though my preference is a variable speed).
A good rule of thumb for simple understanding is that you can OVER PUMP a filter, but you cannot OVER FILTER a pump. So having a larger filter is not a problem. As long as the pool is turning over 1 - 1.5 times during a run cycle, your existing pump will be just fine.
Here is something else to think about; having a larger filter and still maintaining the smaller pump from your previous filter allows the water MORE TIME to filtrate in your filter. The pressure on the filter will be reduced, causing less stress to the components of the pool system, and the water will come out cleaner, taking advantage of the filtration area of your filter.
Also, if you try to up or down size a pump without changing out the impeller or some of the more critical operating components, you would not see a major difference in performance. Also, you could cause damage to the existing pump.

How to install hayward motor?

Just the motor? Three things you must consider: There are 4 bolts that fasten the motor to the pump housing. You need to determine 110 Volts or 220 volts - 220 will run the pump more efficiently. Bonding. Your motor must be bonded to all other metal parts of your pool system.

I NEED TO LOCATE AND REPLACE A O. SMITH IMPELLER ON A 155 HP POOL MOTOR

A.O. Smith is just the motor. If your pump is a Hayward any pool store can help. Take your old one in and they can match it. Be sure to get a new seal while your at it, It should be a #201 seal. If you pull the whole motor and pump face the pool shop can probally do the work for you and gennerally don't charge except for the parts. Good luck

Recheck your wire connection on the motor. You likely put both your line wires on the same terminal. If not, try finding a local warranty center for a repair or replacement... http://www.haywardnet.com/locator/
